How I met your Mother - Season 6!

I'm sure CBS would want them to bleed the show dry; CSI, Two and a Half Men etc, but impression I've gotten of the people running the show is they are gonna bow out sooner rather then later. I mean Ted is meeting the mother in S7E1 at the latest; if they do some kind of cliffhanger at the end of this one with him teaching the class, meeting the mother will use up the bulk of their unaired clips of the kids, and after that I can't imagine them getting much more out of these characters, especially if Robin/Barney get hitched.

How I Met Your Mother is continuing a tradition of guest casting with music stars (see Britney Spears, Carrie Underwood), as they've recruited Katy Perry for an upcoming episode.

TVLine.com's Matt Webb Mitovich broke the news, revealing Perry has been cast as "the beautiful and naive cousin of Jennifer Morrison's Zoey." The character is being touted as a possible love interest for Ted (Josh Radnor).

This will mark Perry's biggest acting role to date, following a cameo in Get Him to the Greek, an appearance in a live-action/puppet segment of The Simpsons and, of course, the infamous too much boobage Sesame Street appearance that was cut from the show.

It was during the Christmas episode (I think -- maybe New Years). They did a muppets-esque thing and Katy Perry was the guest.

I'm ok with her being on the show if it prevents Ted from being attracted to Zoey. That whole angle needs to not happen..

I forget where I saw it, might've been commentary on the S3 or S4 DVD or IMDB but show runners are contracted till 2013 as well I think.

I Noticed the countdown early on, around 49 and i was hoping it was just going to come down to having some good news, i felt a bit sad when Marshalls dad was announced dead, the Robin scenes were brilliant as were the marshall sperm sample scenes.

To continue the discussion on how long it should run, im hoping the 7th season will be the final season with ted finally meeting the mother at the end of the current season, most of the previously mentioned events that lead to meeting the mother (Yellow umbrella, Wrong Class, Dating her room mate) have been used and im willing to bet that from the scene in the church yard (where it starts raining) might play into meeting the mother at the end of this seasons run.

I prefer to err on the side of caution when it comes to potentially spoiling things since everyone has different views on how big a particular spoiler is and so on, especially when it's something in an upcoming episode, as opposed to one that has aired.

Segel revealed there was a lot of work by the HIMYM producers to keep this plot turn under wraps, explaining, "In the script we received, the last scene was, 'Marshall, I'm pregnant.' And then they told us on the day, 'No, that's not what's happening.' And they gave us the alternate pages."

Both Segel and Alyson Hannigan spoke about Segel's decision to not know what Hannigan's exact lines were in that scene. As Segel put it, "I didn't want to know what she was going to say to me when she got out of that cab." Hannigan recalled asking, "'Jason are, you sure?' I was like, 'I'm going to take some pauses and okay, the last word [for your cue] is 'it.'' I was like, 'I don't say 'it' any other time.'"Said Segel, "I had no idea what [Hannigan] was going to say to me. I knew the overall premise, but she came out and she was already crying and it was so heartbreaking and it made acting very easy. All I had to do was react in that scene. I didn't have to dig very deep."

Amazingly, only one take of that powerful scene was filmed. Hannigan recalled asking the director and producers, "'Are you sure? We should probably do it again!' But they were like, 'It's perfect!'"
