I heard they were going to introduce a zone in between the Ul'Dah and Gridania starting zones, is this true?

I was speculating about that last night, but nothing like that is true until you see it.

There really should be one there continuity-wise. A dense, lush forest crammed right up against an arid desert/canyon? Is this Meriphetaud/Zi'tah again? There needs to be some sort of gradual change in environment. Plus, it feels odd to me having the 3 big city-states so close to eachother.

The world map doesn't show any regions in between Thanalan and the Black Shroud. I doubt there is one.

It's all a matter of where they will place Paglth'an, but logic assumes it fits the continuity you mention, at least when you look at it on the Eorzea map.
There's supposed to be a river running between Black Shroud and Paglth'an towards Mor Dhona and since it's not in Black Shroud it must be in Paglth'an so that zone at least stretches that far north (into where the landscape has changed green).

Edit: And could you really imagine Paglth'an being a zone that looks just like Thanalan so close to it? Even more reason to think it turns green and into forest.

Don't get me wrong, I love to party. This was a major part of gameplay for me for the last 5 years, but until party dynamics are made, I'll stick to it solo. I just wish if one person activated favor, the entire group would get it. I would be more than willing to do leves with people if that was the case.

Save favor for leves with beefy mobs, like bandits or humanoids and stuff. Even dodos.

Similarly, if you're doing Fieldcraft leves, save Guardian's Aspect for "Inspect 3 Promising ___ Points," assuming the Grade isn't too far past you.

Also, I'm making one little assumption about Botany/Fishing/Mining guild locations regarding their area's leves based on a trend for Fishing, if they don't all get 1/10/20/30/40+ at launch, it will probably be...

Ul'dah: Fishing~40 Mining~30 Botany~20
Limsa Lominsa: Fishing~30 Mining~20 Botany~40
Gridania: Fishing~20 Mining~40 Botany~30

yeah it sucks for US people >< a lot of the EU sites shipped early and some of the singapore shops I read also started selling yesterday. I called Amazon and told them amazon.co.uk was shipping orders and they said they can't do anything about it and wont ship before the 21st -.-

I'm talking about linking your POLID with an active ffxi account for the running shoes from one of the 3 bonuses you get, though to check whats registered go to select service, xiv then options list fella.

Here's a random question as I start to plan out my FFXIV strategy:

If I use shield on Thaumaturge (and never use Gladiator) can I learn shield abilities such as Aegis Boon? Or do I need to learn it on Gladiator first for my Thaumaturge to use it?
