FFXIV Random Speculation/Question Thread X: "Social life ends tonight."

I'm going with this one, while mining I tend to always aim high, going low usually results in bloodworms.

From what I've been reading, it might be Theory-3 for Mining/Botany and, from my experience, Fishing might go along with Theory-2. Fishing is a bit different from the other 2 in a few ways... infinite fishing points, bait expending, etc.

I think all that stuff is just aesthetics in cutscenes and plots, dont think theres actual guilds you join.. I might be wrong though.

I think the only "joining" of guilds would be to begin class-specific quests. There's no initiation to get anything out of the guilds thus far other than earning Guild Marks to spend there.

no. there's guildleves and guildpoints you can use on the specific jobs. They just all seem to be lv20+ or so.

what was the program people were using to play windowed mode as full screen? and does it work with the final release?

I have a question since i already own a standard edition copy of the game, Would it be safe to register and play this early without the possibility of getting banned or something?

I'm not even sure if the key is going to work this early, Maybe only collectors edition keys only work at the moment, Reason i ask because i don't really plan to play anytime soon, So just really curious.

Question about equiping urself:

So I have gladiator 11 now and still wearing the level 1 gear

Is there npcs with cheap weapons and armor for higher level? Or is it cheaper to buy materials from npc then craft the gear urself?

There is some NPCs that sells armor, fairly cheap aswell just look around the cities and market areas

How the fuck do I turn off the noise in this game, I turned down the sound bars but still hear all the obnoxious sound effects.

On the windows toolbar right click the volume icon while ffxiv is open and select volume mixer. Then lower the volume for xiv.

Yeah, basicly what it does is hide the window borders. So if you run FFXIV at the same resolution as your moniter, pseudo fullscreen. More than likely that's what the other one does too. You'll need to find the script that was posted for it though. It also works more for me since dell decided not to include a scroll lock key and insted include a blank one... So I can map scroll lock to another and take pictures. Would probably even be able to make it just prnt scrn (or another key) to take a picture.

So you're rank 12 on marauder, physical level around 14 and you've exhausted all battle leves as well as local leves on your crafting job which is nearly rank 10.

What the hell are you supposed to do now...? Leveling has become exponentially harder and it's getting to the point where it's hard to find the motivation to continue. I guess I could go back and level a different job from scratch, but to what avail? I want to enjoy this game more but it seems as though there's nothing left to enjoyable do.

i got the guest pass from friend and playing now however its treating it like Retail account and i have the game coming on the way but i wana know incase if SE need you to have main Register code will i lose the Progress of lvling and shit or not

You kinda just have to stick it out for abit, once the normal version comes out and the flood gates open you'll probably be seeing groups sharing leves and stuff, also obviously when theres more linkshells and when every is established there will probably be groups designed to kill ITs like an exp party as it where and people making Behest groups etc.. Also there is people approaching 20 with their class and I've asked each one how and where but just been blatantly ignored, so I can't shed any light on that.

Just sum up what I just said, the game isn't established yet.. just like when 11 first came out there wasnt guides up on what mobs to kill for fast exp the same week it hit the shops. its all trial and error for a few weeks when a game is first released just wait it out. It won't stay like this.

Yeah, I've seen a few high levels, one group in particular fighting crabs in the forest. They had a full party of like 6 people. I think the way grinding is currently (especially if you're solo) is comparable to soloing EP-DC mobs on FFXI for exp. Totally unrewarding and hard to endure.

When I tried to basically do anything with them they just disappear. Except for the "dismiss from your service" that just keeps blinking up the options menu again.

Means I can't use them or get rid of them to get another...

Meh is there some prerequisite to play parley? I just get abit if dialog from her about Parley and she asks me to try my luck and nothing happens.
