So lodestone says to use off to equip sub items, buts its not working, or im typing in something wrong.
/equip main "Weathered Hatchet"
/equip off "Bronze Scythe"
Main equips fine, but not off.

Final Fantasy has never been the type of game to grind so I think its just temporarily whilst things get discovered, give it a few months and things will be running like 11, shouts in towns for groups etc.
Although I could be totally jumping the gun and it might actually end up being a grindy game...we will have to wait and see I'm not giving up yet.
You are right but to me FFXI never felt like grinding because you knew that at some point you could party and just get really good exp. So I really wouldn't call it grinding.. on the other hand FFXIV right now is solid aion type grinding until the game maturesSee what I mean? Unless your leveling BST/BLM/PUP up from level 10 you pretty much jump in and out of parties no one ever grinded. Party grind isn't as tedious as solo grinding either not even close, back in the early days of FFXI when you had a purpose in your party so the exp would just come in without you realizing most of the time.. obviously we can all name a few camps where the exp was horrible and you watched the bar go up like a hawk.
If you honestly think FFXI is grinding then I am going to go out on a limb and say you've probably never played Aion after level 30 it made you do nothing but kill the same mob for millions of exp per level, THATS grinding, I only got to level 38 and in that time I felt like ripping my hair out. FFXI never did that to me once or else I wouldn't of seen myself leveling 5 jobs to 75 and playing it for 4 years ^^ Each to their own though ~
While many things in FFXI can be considered grinding, there were times when it was thoroughly enjoyable for whatever reason.
Only time I found it hard to level a job was because of the job its self nothing to do with the process, infact I'd be over the moon if FFXIV eventually morphed into the party system they were awesome fun and taught you a lot. On the flipside can be awful and extremley time wasting and you might meet some of the most annoying/horrible people imaginable that you would happily punch in the face if you seen them in real life.. but its part of the whole journey.
Grinding and fun aren't mutually exclusive; I'm not sure why everyone keeps treating as if they are.
Say that to the people that are like level 20 >_< what I'd give for that level of patience.
So gathering skill ups are lame, even with leves and favour. I want beta 3 values again, that was good shit.
The only reason people are hitting an early wall is that most weapons/armor pieces around lvl10-15 aren't being filled by crafters yet (at least on my server.) A lot of that is the fact that it takes lvl18 in craft jobs to make a lot of the lvl7-10 gear :/
Level 20ish is where it's going to slow waaaay down.
I'm trying to complete the weaver guildleve [Clearing Nine Ivies] but I don't know where to turn it in. It says Troegmoer at Camp Nine Ivies, but I don't know where this is! Archives site has no info on him, anyone know where the camp is at?
Check your map.
Bolded part in google brought me to : http://www.eorzeapedia.com/wiki/en/Camp_Nine_Ivies
Zone: East Forest (29-47)
Doing the 2nd main quest/mission/whatever for Ul'Dah (Golden Sacrifices) and I'm stuck. NPC told me to go here and marked it on my map...except nothing has been marked. Nothings different in any of my maps, and the jorunal just tells me to go to the marked location. Anyone else done this?
Question: Have any alchemists been able to make mole-brown dye? Has anyone found mole-brown dyer's moss? Its the last thing I need before I start raking in lots and lots of gil!
Alright, thanks.
According to my friend who just took and registered my buddy key, it's the same thing as a retail key. He just bought the CE so he could get his Onion hat, but after he registered it, he ended up having two FFXIV retail accounts attached to his SE account, not including the open beta.
I guess that's why they were toting the buddy key as a CE benefit.
Caveat: I'll edit this post later if my friend is just being retarded, I have no way to verify any of this.
So, anyone else notice how tiny the area of effect range must be? I've cast AoE spells like Banish or Poison with two mobs right next to each other and I still miss the second mob. Do they have to be right on top of each other or something?
