As topic says, I'm looking for a new home theater receiver. There is nothing particularly wrong with my current receiver, it is just showing its age. It's roughly 7 years old. It has some component video inputs(2), but no HDMI or anything. It has an opitcal input as well, but it's really quite dated. I have 6 satellite speakers/ Sub. They're also pretty damn old, coming from a Sony home theater system. They're most likely shit, but for a small apartment they do just fine. I'd say let me just go for a whole new system, but I can always upgrade the speakers later.
That being said, I'm looking for something with HDMI inputs/component, up to 6.1 surround with all the other basics. Looking to spend anywhere between $300-400. I was looking at some lower end Denon's which are okay. I know there are quite a few home theater nuts here, so I'm curious if they can suggest anything good for that price range. Or at least something superior than my Sony STR-DE895. I'm gonna contiinue to research it a bit, but any help is appreciated.
If Best Buy has anything decent (contradiction? lol) I'll pick it up there. I have access to most stores, and prefer to pick something up rather than have it shipped.
Thanks for anything you guys can help out with :D
