It's a safety issue. If you allow it the people start kicking around the goal and goalies and other players start getting cut more often.

Yeah that's a good point, I guess more I mean a forward motion shouldn't count as a kick so long as the blade doesn't leave the ice(that's what happened on the Green goal). If you're picking your foot up that can be dangerous so I see that being disallowed, but if it stays down you should be able to move the puck forward with it.

I just think they are too strict with the rule, for the last season or so there have been some instances where just a moving foot has been considered kicking.

leafs need to get rid of beauchemin. basically gives the puck to the other team 3-4 times a game and causes at least 1 goal per game. really sad to see the effort from some of the leaf players considering they started off so hard and now seem so lackluster.
