Son of a bitch... Carey Price gets a shutout, Pekka Rinne gets one but I had him benched cause I had the goalie lead, and then Nittymaki gets mop-up duty vs Calgary but cause the Flames are up 4-0 they let off the gas and he gets his stats padded to squeek past my goalie stats.

Man the Devils look like a mess. They didn't start actually playing hockey till the 3rd period.

Rangers look really hard working without Gabby in the lineup. Hopefully the lessons they learn without him early keep with them when he comes back. Last year the Rangers would get complacent knowing Gabby would bail them out. If they keep this grit and hard work up, with Gabby's production, they'll be fun to watch.

You know what I do when the Pens aren't playing? I don't sit and watch hockey for 6 hours. You know what I do when the Pens are playing? Make 2-3 posts tops.

(Of course all this goes out the window come April, but for fucks sake, its October hockey, its not earthshattering if Jonathan Quick and the referee had a casual non-hockey chat after an offsides call)

And my guess is Bylsma Smash didn't check his team all week.

And spot on assessment Palin. I feared this team was going to buckle once Gaborik was out. Inconsistency/lack of effort has plagued this team since Renney lost the locker room 2 seasons ago. If, IF they can keep it up they're going to be fun to watch. Getting balanced scoring, getting some gritty goals, youth is progressing nicely. Though I can't understand for the life of me why after playing 2 solid games in a row, why the shit does Tortorella sit Sauer for Steve Fucking Eminger?!?!

I heard a rumor that Sauer had a minor lower body injury, soreness in the groin most likely, which is why he was given the night off. can't confirm though and I never saw any of the beat writers verify it.

There's like 3 pairs of decent announcers in the NHL. Nothing new.
