Wow that is the first I've seen that. Ericsson goes after Brule after Brule got a good hit on Datsyuk, and in the middle of the fight a linesman goes in to break it up but only holds Ericsson... and by doing that lets Brule take a few free shots while Ericsson is being tied up.

That was my point, how is that possible? If its not automatic, major non-fighting + game misconduct happens so frequently that it must be a once-a-season incidence.

The misconduct usually comes if the victim ends up actually being injured as a result of the play, but violations serious enough to garner a 5-minute major have a pretty high rate of hurting someone so it seems pretty automatic.

Outside of Crosby the Pens look horrible. What's up? I don't see how they're failing so hard with so much talent. Even with Fleury being horrible why isn't the offense clicking? Where's Malkin?

Yeah those damn Russians don't try hard/train hard in the offseason/play the game right/speak French/etc. etc.

He and the Pens will be fine in the long run I'm sure. They just need to get healthy.

They think they can just wing it til April and then try and make it all click when the postseason starts. Malkin is developing a serious case of Russianitis, the primary symptom being a lack of motivation/effort. Its also causing a lack of brain functioning, as he decides to do a backhand no look drop pass in the neutral zone with an empty net and almost single handedly handed the Ducks the game.

This just in though: Fleury didn't suck this game. He played solid for the most part and just got fucking close quarters combat raped by the Ducks for some of them.
