Ya I've just noticed the games I've watched, Malkin's been a liability or invisible. He seems so far removed from that 08 season.

Jesus Christ.. My goalies got raped tonight and really fucked me for this week. Goalies have been decent all season. But tonight really killed me. Damn you Ward and Bryzgalov!

They think they can just wing it til April and then try and make it all click when the postseason starts. Malkin is developing a serious case of Russianitis, the primary symptom being a lack of motivation/effort. Its also causing a lack of brain functioning, as he decides to do a backhand no look drop pass in the neutral zone with an empty net and almost single handedly handed the Ducks the game.

Pretty fucking bad given the dozens of players who would have similar or greater outputs with equal or lesser salaries. It would not be a Drury, Redden, Souray kind of bad deal but it would be pretty painful for the Pens. That being said even if he never returns to his '08-'09 form I'm fairly confident he will be in the 80s most years.

Seeing lazy Russians on other teams makes me appreciate Datsyuk so much though. Even if he is a stay-at-home defenseman.

If he's a continual 80 point player thats fine. It's just brutal that he's getting paid Crosby money and doesn't seem to show up for stretches of games. I just can't help but wonder if this is what his career is going to look like as he gets older. If Malkin was getting like 6-7 mil I think that he'd be well worth the money even at 80 points a season. It's a shame since some of the money they're overpaying him to be an underachieving #2 centre (right now anyways) could be used to pay for better wingers for Crosby.

The Detroit or Vancouver streak will end tonight, should be a fun game to watch.

I'm guessing the Wings will lose, 6 points out of 6 on a road trip is too much to expect, and I believe they are playing Howard again for the 2nd time in 2 days. After 6 out of 7 wins though it is hard to complain. Also Rafalski will be coming back soon!

From what I can tell from camera shots, literally half the Thrashers building is wearing Chicago North sweaters and cheering louder for Hawks goals than Thrashers. That has to be an odd feeling for the Thrasher players lol.

I proposed it yes. Sharp's the main guy in the trade on my part. Cullen's actually been pretty awesome too, racking up a ton of PP points in MIN. He's got 12 points in 14 games, and 10 of them PPPs.

Kane and Toews both with 2 goals so far tonight, and I just got the best text ever from a friend saying "appears that the lack of defense in the IL/MI game carried over to this one as well." (For those not in the loop, Illinois lost to Michigan today in football 67-65.) I'm also noticing that Kopecky doesn't seem to skate as hard without Hossa in the lineup.
