Dallas-Kings game getting physical. 3 Fights, Clifford drops Segal with one punch. Kings goal disallowed which seems pretty bogus as the Stars goalie was way out of the crease when contact was made.

I'm liking all of the scoring these past few nights.

I watched the video on NHL.com of them discussing the potential winners of the Art Ross Trophy this year. Do these guys even watch hockey? Rosen says Ovechkin. Giannone says Crosby and bashes Ovechkin saying he never passes and just shoots. Given his history in shot totals, I'd agree. But Ovechkin is passing a shit ton more and making a lot of good plays. I'm actually really enjoying all of these televised Caps games.

Also, fuck Cam Ward for Fantasy. First few weeks, he was doing great for me. He still gets me wins. But fuck is his GAA awful.

Ironically the best analysis through an NHL channel (website, NHLnetwork, etc) was Roenick's show that I have still only seen once. They were 2 or 3 guys other than Roenick discussing teams and award winners during the preseason and it was one of the first times I've seen people predict Art Ross/Hart/etc without naming Ovechkin or Crosby for most of them.

Also Ovechkin has more assists then Crosby right now... lol.

And so begins my early season Penguins rant. I have rage. Nerd rage levels. Seppuku will probably agree with me on most of these.
1. Brent Johnson is a backup goalie. He is reverting to his back up form.
2. Fleury is the starting goaltender. If he doesn't play he won't get out of the gaping abyssal hole he's in right now.
3. Console doesn't have that aura of invincibility that Mellon Arena used to convey. Teams would walk in knowing this was the Penguins house.
4. The powerplay is atrocious. Which is inexcusable with the names on that team.
5. Goligoski while I appreciate your offensive skills, your defensive skills are on par with mine ie almost nonexistent.
6. Tony Granato always looks like he murdered someone when they interview him.
7. For how solid defensively Zybnek Michalek was supposed to be I am not impressed with him at all. Perhaps I'm comparing him too much to The Piece.

Things I like so far.
1. Deryk Engelland will fight anyone near him.
2. Mark Letestu has been a pleasant surprise.
3. The Penguins lead the league in fighting majors and Eric Godard isn't even leading the team in the category(see aforementioned Deryk Engelland.)
