I think it's more so that his fellow old-schoolers are the ones running the NHL and franchises' front offices, and they're the ones who make the decisions about whether or not his job is in jeopardy. It would take something way bigger than this for the establishment to turn on Campbell, and even more so for them to dissolve the position and have a committee of more than one person handle these things. And let's be honest, recent decisions haven't had the gravity of a Dale Hunter or Marty McSorley or Todd Bertuzzi to them.

Yeah, except that excuse pisses me off. "Old school" hockey is supposed to be about doing the right thing, even if you have to punch a guy to do it. I like that. "Old school" has nothing to do with having pet-favourites, or pet-grudges.

Unless he's injured, no reason why Ballard shouldn't be playing. Tomorrow's game should summarize this 5 game road trip. Both teams have something to go for.

How do you think it's different? I understand the whole "games faster now/dudes need to wear shit on their head" thing, but what do you see as really changing in the culture between the transition of "old" to "new"? I have to think that the kids getting into the NHL today aren't working just as hard as people 30, 40 years ago. Maybe just with how the game has gotten bigger, so there's more of an institution to deal with instead of, like you mentioned, an old gentlemen's club?

I'm not trying to get all Kuya up in this bitch, I just really took umbrage to the idea that McKenzie is putting out that well, that's how it used to be, because I would think that there is no way this shit would fly anymore then than it should today.

Special teams goals (goals against on PK and goals for on PP) are not counted on +/-. SH goals and 6 on 5 goals do count for +/-.
