Surprised Sopel didn't get an A, though I guess he's probably old enough that they're not planning to re-sign him when his deal's up. Good for Ladd, I miss the shit out of him

Yeah Melena, if its any consolation, your defenseman fucked up, your wife is going to leave you, and your goalie probably could've easily stopped that by getting the paddle down or the leg out. Its a shame his career was wasted in that shithole... imagined if he played in, say, anywhere but Calgary or the Southeast Division.

There have been whisperings of a trade between LA and Calgary involving Iginla... The front offices have denied anything but apparently it was from a source that talked about the Phaneuf deal last year before it became official too. LA has the space this season but will need it soon to re-sign the young guys on the team that will demand a pay raise.

The problem with that deal is that in order to pull the trigger Sutter would have to admit to himself and the fans that they are now in a rebuilding phase. Believe it or not people still think they can contend for the Stanley Cup. If Sutter made that trade it would finally wake everyone up that the Flames have no chance of competing for anything but the top draft pick. It would signal the end of his era in Calgary and right now he is clawing tooth and nail to stay there by making bad trade after bad trade to get players now instead of investing in their future. If Iginla does get traded I wouldn't be surprised if it happens after Sutter gets fired.

Maybe I'm wrong, I didn't think he'd trade Phaneuf but if you believe the rumours Iginla forced him to make this trade. I wonder if Iginla can force Sutter to trade him too.

If anyone on the Flames has that kind of pull, it'd better be Iginla. I can't picture him playing for another team though, just because he's been a Flame for life so far, and yet, I'd wish nothing more than for him to get outta that town.

I would think the whole 'not even making the playoffs' thing would go further than Sutter's self-admittal, but it seems people are pretty stubborn out there.

I honestly think it's the only way he has a chance to save his job there beyond this season unless the Flames can somehow stop sucking massively. He could (probably) get more for the organization looking forward from sending Iginla somewhere else. Of course Sutter's track record suggests that Iginla will stay in Calgary while the team is run into the ground, and Iginla won't smell the playoffs again for the rest of his career.

ROFL again at her leaving me. Seriously Sep, you need more material. Your comedy and insults are about as awesome as month old nacho's from taco bell. Least the Sharks made the finals last year. Last I checked your team choked a 3-1 advantage to the 8 seed last year.
