Some of the recent articles make it sound like all Stamkos does right now is train and shoot pucks. I wouldn't be surprised if he's one of the hardest training superstars in the NHL right now. Ovie is too busy banging russian super models to get as much practice in.

The funny thing is, Stamkos isn't ridiculously gifted outside of his shot. He's fairly average but hardworking in his skating, stickhandling, etc, but his shot is terrific and it makes him into something special.

He's really been mediocre this year. Tries that same curl and drag move up the left wing every time he carries the puck in. The only thing he's gotten better at is passing, he's looking to set up Backstrom and Semin a lot more this year.

Edit: Also, I was at a buddy's place watching the Bears/Dolphins last night, dreading Rhinox fapping and posting it in the NFL thread, but also flipping to Bolts/Flyers at commercials. And guess who started Bobrovsky last night... Oh well, at least I had St. Louis in my money league.

The Sabres away jersey was not officially revealed by the club in time to make it into the release of NHL11. Some point around the middle of the season each year EA releases a code that patches in the new alternate jerseys for that year that weren't in the release, the Buffalo away jersey will be included with that this year. We still have another 15-20 games or so of the RL season to go before it's released. If you want to play away as Buffalo for the time being just use their Winter Classic jersey or something.

Needs more Dallas fans. I was at the game last night and it was pretty awesome. I love divisional games. So much hate. I know everyone was fapping at the TB/PHI game but I enjoyed myself at our 5-4 OT win.

I was sitting about 5 rows up from the ice where the visiters enter/exit and that's also where the Dallas Stars "ice girls" wait between whistles to clean the ice. Well there were 2 guys like in their 40s staring at them the entire time with some "To Catch a Predator" eyes. My girlfriend noticed it and pointed it out to me and we kind of monitored and laughed about it the entire game. Well apparently some of the ice girls noticed also and told security about it. I wish I would have gotten a picture but the way these two guys were looking at these girls was disgusting. I understand a quick glance, undressing someone with your eyes, whatever; but these guys were raping these chicks with their eyes. So anyways, security came over and just stood against the railing to block the guys' view. It was pretty sickening. Even made my girlfriend uncomfortable. I wouldn't be surprised if those guys had raped/drugged a few chicks in their pasts.

There's something about the third one, the way he's peering down and to the side, and how he's holding his goalie stick... The first one is good too but it's more just like a herpderp moment.

A few interesting articles about Stamkos possibly being the 9th player in NHL history to score 50 in 50. I think it's possible but not likely but i would love to see it.

Then i think about him having to score 31 goals in his next 20 games to tie Gratzky's record and just shake my head. I'm a huge fan of that era as i love the ridiculous numbers put up then, but i wonder if anything like that will ever be possible again. With so many teams now and many being watered down, you would think it would be easier to put up huge numbers today. Then i think about what the league would be like with 6 fewer teams and all the talent from those teams being redirected to make better and deeper rosters and i wonder.

So many scrubs in the league today slowing down the pace of the game. I say that as a Pens fan knowing full well that half of our roster are players that probably wouldn't be here 20 years ago. But i suppose it's like that for every team. I'd like to see another run at a 200 point season before they bury me is what i guess i'm saying.

The first thing that always strikes me when I watch a classic game from the vintage Gretzky/Mario/Dionne era is how different goaltending was back then. The equipment, the techniques and styles they used, the playing of pucks out of the crease, everything just seems foreign to me. Unless they shrink the padding measurements and outlaw the butterfly, there's no way we'll see that level of scoring again.
