Edit: God watching the highlights made me sick. It's like everything we did in the first 20 games has gone out the window. Can't clear the pick, Schultz and Green look lost, top line isn't clicking. Nodl's spin-o-rama on Green was just a terrible way to let them take a 3rd period lead. We're lucky Fehr got that late PP goal, stole a point right there.

Vigneault was apparently pretty salty last night and accused the Hawks of trying to run up the score:

The minor detail missing is that they put out Kane/Toews/Stalberg/Keith/Boynton, with Stalberg and Boynton most definitely not being #1 PP unit guys and Kane/Toews were just due for a shift because the third line drew the second penalty. I don't recall Quenneville boo-hooing about Sutter not pulling Iginla in the third period on Friday, lol...

It wasn't close after Wednesday/Thursday.... you had an early lead Monday-Tuesday cause I literally had like NO ONE play the first two days of the week practically but once my players started playing your lead quickly evaporated.

The worst part is that my team's probably had their best week since the season started this week, and still got shellacked. Hoping I get better luck next year, lol. Definitely never picking a goaltender over a goal-scorer again.

Oh, but it wouldn't have been insulting for the Hawks to have backed off and 'gone easy' or some bullshit? The fuck is that logic. Chicago played like Vancouver was a threat, and honestly they should have been.

Typically yes, professional hockey is one of the few sports where pulling punches is seen as a negative, the other major one being college football, but that's due more to that sport rewarding running up the score than any sort of respect issues. It's one thing to go easy when it's two beer-league teams showing an obvious mismatch, but with the parity in the NHL, especially between high-end Western Conference teams, there's no reason to treat another team with kid gloves. Plus there's been plenty of examples the last few years that show no lead is a safe lead, if you can still score more goals it's never a bad idea to do so.

11 out of 12 points on the home stand, Zetterberg and Iginla's goals tie me in goals and PPP in fantasy, provided Ed Jovo doesn't crush my hopes later tonight.

A couple of stupid penalties and some bad luck resulted in Detroit's win. Sarich breaking his stick with what? 5 seconds to go essentially giving Zetterberg a free pass to the net, you know he's gonna bury it. Alas, bad loss but at least we got a point.
