Well they have friends in San Jose, holding an extremely deep scoring roster. Boyle, Marleau, Heatley, and even Coutoure and Clowe, everybody's in the points it seems. If either Niemi or Nittymaki would just. get. their. game. San Jose would be right back in the western picture. Turco is projected to play against Niemi which means... god help me... I'm putting my faith in Turco.
Actually Turco hasn't been playing that crappy, there's a few games that he bombed and the fault is mostly on him, but the rest of the reason and the main ones that Chicago isn't where they should be is 1. Defense has been suspect most of the year since they broke up Seabrook and Keith and 2. The offense hasn't been scoring as much as normal until lately. Overall team play and loss of depth is the reason the Hawks are sitting at .500, not Turco's sole fault.

I'm so confused. The Flyers have yet to play the Wild..

lol...watch the games before you make write-ups like that. Turco's let in maybe two soft goals all season, almost every goal has come from monster defensive lapses either from failed pinches or having both defensemen chasing pucks beneath the goal line without someone covering the front of the net. Crawford as well, if I'm not mistaken he was actually statistically even with Luongo, but an awful win/loss record because of not having goal support. Their scoring has been awful up until the Edmonton game, most of their losses have been by one goal and a lot of them have been 2-1 or 3-2.

Stamkos tied for the Rocket last year and is on pace to win it in a landslide this year. He's not the second coming like some are making him out to be but he's got a fucking insane shot and will probably keep scoring pretty well as long as he has someone like St. Louis or Lecavalier setting him up.
Also Nittymaki is playing pretty well, 4th in GAA, 11th in Sv%.
Blues forwards are playing well... except they're not. The team is in the bottom half of the league in goals scored, Perron and Oshie are out and Boyes has been streaky.
Habs are not undefeated when scoring first, the last game they played they got out to a 2-0 lead and lost the game 3-2.
Iginla has started this season slower than ever, I see his scoring streak as a blurb. He's on again, off again. So, yes he's had 8 points in his last 5 games. The next 5 games he's had 1 point. It still doesn't help that calgary routinely takes dumb penalties, but I think they can take the Devils. Hey Coach Sutter is back too.

Stamkos is a great player, I won't deny it. But the questions are, will he win the Hart, will he win the Art Ross? And I'm still not sure. But fkin TSN nearly unanimously voted/predicted him for the Hart trophy and that's just plain sickening. This is going to be a matchup between a premier line and premier goalie (Lundqvist is fourth on the rangers all-time shut out list), but his last few games he's disappointed. Goalie rallies, makes this a close one.

Nittymaki was playing great... till the Sharks made him the starter two games ago and he lost both of them with six goals over two. (And his GAA is 5th... no difference really just saiyan). Left wing lock says they're playing Niemi anyway, and he's bad news bears for the sharks.

St Louis forwards Andy McDonald, David Backes and Brad Boyes have 21 points between them in the last five games. If they're that streaky, do they have some goals left?

MTL is 11-1-1 if they get the first goal. And... you're right the last game they lost. I wasn't following it. :/

I'm so confused. The Flyers have yet to play the Wild..
ALRIGHT ALREADY do you see that post time?
So I was a little incoherent at the time.

When the teams met in 2010*, Minnesota took both games close and won.

Also Fleury is not playing for pittsburg, it's Johnson.

Well what are your predictions then, oh infallible forum? Anything you'd lay a Pro-Line down on?

I think Nashville will win and Tampa Bay will win. Other than that I like most of your picks. I want to see Vancouver win but something seems off with the team right now. I'm hoping for a good game but if I was betting I'd pick Colorado.

Most of the games tonight sre mismatches and easy picks.

Pens/Sabres: Pens. Sabres are still stuck with Lolime afaik, and Connolly is out as well I believe, leaving Derek Roy as pretty much the entire offense.

Caps/Canes: Caps. Canes aren't playing too terribly, but I'm betting BB lit a fire under his boys after the laugher in NJ, I expect them to come out strong.

Wings/Thrashers: Thrashers. Totally biased upset pick, 98% sure Detroit will win though. De-troit sucks, etc.

Rangers/Bolts: Ligtning. Tampa's PP is damn strong and if there's anything the Rangers do well, it's taking stupid penalties. Stamkos gets 2.

Jackets/Isles: Jackets. Islanders are an infinite mess in every possible aspect of a hockey organization.

Flames/Devils: Devils. I think they'll still be riled up after last game, and the Flames are a joke.

Bruins/Panthers: Bruins. Not even a fair matchup, lol.

Kings/Habs: Kings. Price and Quick both look great, but Kings have the firepower.

Stars/Sens: Stars. Sens are a mess.

Blues/Preds: Preds. Probably a real good, physical game.

Flyers/Wild: Flyers. They're playing real good hockey, Minny has the toughness to keep up but not the skill.

Avs/Canucks: Avs. Real close matchup, but Chris Stewart is a boss.

Hawks/Sharks: Hawks. I believe Niemi's slated to start, I'd be surpised to not see Nitty at some point though.

I feel like most of the matchups are pretty clear on favorite and who "should" win, but I think most bad teams aren't as bad as they once seemed. The Islanders and Oilers are the only ones who seem to have completely shut off, as the Devils showed they still had a pulse vs a shitty goaltender.

Kovalchuk is going to end with under 60 points and a long summer vacation.

And he's going to fucking love it because he will still be making 100 million dollars.

Niemmi is starting. He's either going to put on a show to say FU to the hawks, or he's going to choke like a bitch and cement himself as a San Jose Shark.

15 seconds into the Caps/Canes game, and we have a zebra down! A zebra is down!

Also, top line for Caps is Laich/Backstrom/Ovechkin. Yes, Ovie's playing RW tonight. First time I've ever seen it. Huh.

Canes were buzzing for the first 10 minutes or so, but Ovie and Backstrom score one off a rebound on a pretty good 2-on-2 rush. I'll take it.

What a BS call against the Kings. 2 players get locked up with each other and they call it against the Kings and its 1-0 MTL, lol.
