How is that even a thing.
Oh Kovalchuk, I'd pity you if you weren't making more than my entire extended family combined.
Hey Bregor, you hearing any of these rumours of Fleischman being traded to the Kings (or maybe the Canucks)? Heard he's underachieving but it seems weird to be discussing a trade now. Word is it's Fleischman for a Dman.
From LeBrun's blog on ESPN.com:
lol...Reports out of Russia over the past few days linked a few KHL teams to retired blueliner Chris Chelios, 48. TSN's Darren Dreger confirmed Friday that there were at least talks between KHL club Vityaz and the Chelios camp.
In fact, Chelios told ESPN.com that two KHL teams were in the mix.
"Two teams are looking for a D-man, so might as well listen," Chelios told me via text message. "Just sniffin' around, nothing serious."
The man loves to play.
But.. but.. he said he'd never leave Detroit!
And loves to walk in front of cameras.
late to the party but yay for getting completely owned by Vancouver, then nearly choke away a 2 goal lead to Edmonton. It's awesome to be inconsistent.
He's just sick of playing in NJ already, doing everything he can to play his way into a trade!
In other trade news... on today's Puck Daddy's "What We Learned"...his HF trade proposal of the week was
To NYR:
Kaberle
To TOR:
Dubinsky
Avery
Makes me want to slap a bitch. Such stupidity...
Here's the thread, it's full of gold http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=847094
My favorite part is he muses "I know this trade wont happen. But if it does, would it be realistic?" He answers his own question...it's a divide by 0 of trade proposals
Nothing specific on the blogs I read, but BB has always hated Flash and he doesn't quite know what to do with him. They made him 2C out of camp but Marcus Johansson looks ready, and they seem comfortable with two of Boyd Gordon, Hendricks and Steckel as 3 and 4C. So do you send him back to 3rd line winger? Seems like you'd get more value in trading him for a D or prospects.
I heard rumors that discussed someone "who was a healthy scratch" for the Caps in the past few games being traded, with words of a D-man coming in return for him. They certainly made it sound like it was Flash for Bieksa.
D.J. King for Doughty, do it GMGM.
Maybe on Washington, Bieksa would do something for me in fantasy league other than collect -'s
I think they're worried about Green's health, he's had a shoulder/stinger issue for a couple weeks and last night he took a puck off his leg in overtime and could barely get off the ice. But yeah, trade Flash, re-sign Semin, ???, profit.
Rumors out of Leafs camp we're going to sign Richards.
Not Mike, Brad.
Not sure who's up on the block for him though, somebody stop Burke from sending more draft picks. Have you seen the Marlies? Of course not, there's nobody playing for them anymore. As much as we need a center, we need more than a faded center with more than half a career behind him, especially considering how much talent we can call upon in the minor system at the moment
if Burkie pulls off Richards for Kaberle straight up he's officially the greatest GM ever
It will probably be more like Kaberle, two 1sts, two 2nds, and a keg of Molson.
I don't watch Dallas much at all, so I can only go on player stats... Richards' last five seasons have been minus points. Some bad, some not as much, but all -.
My only question is how often does he turn the puck over? Toronto's issue du jour is they hold on to pucks like a bulimic holds on to a Big Mac - they're thrown up instantly. Pretty sure Kaberle is a league leader of bulimic defencemen. In the last two games, the Leafs didn't get anything done because they couldn't: couldn't pass plus couldn't gain the line without control equals offensive hilarity.
We don't need another turnover artist, we don't need to pay big for a recently-hot player with a dog average, but we need centers so... I'm not sure how I feel about the whole idea
