Nabokov and the KHL team SKA have terminated Nabokov's contract and he is returning the United States. He will now look for a NHL team and is willing to sign for way less than he was expecting. Wonder if Tampa will look at him as an upgrade lol

Tampa probably would except that I doubt they are able to spend much more than they are now.
Most of the teams significantly below the cap seem to be working on a self-imposed cap, so they are unlikely to take on another ~$3m which what I would guess Nabby would want, even for his discounted rate. I could see a team like the Leafs wanting him, but unless they could offload Giguere I doubt they would make a move, his $6m salary looks terrible right now.
Turns out Bobby Ryan wasn't taunting Koivu by showing him his own stick that Ryan scored with, but in fact taunting teammate Corey Perry and showing him he could score with the wrong curve on his stick.
Bobby Ryan owns a little bit more now, fuck Corey Perry.
e: also have some awesomely bad jerseys (I want those socks though)

Had to be done.

(I dont know if this chart will render properly, but it's interesting enough to try)
The Top Ten Lines in point production thus far:
Rk SIT TM LINE PTS
1 EV DAL Loui Eriksson - James Neal - Brad Richards 50
2 EV ANA Ryan Getzlaf - Corey Perry - Bobby Ryan 41
3 EV PHI Daniel Briere - Scott Hartnell - Ville Leino 40
4 EV LAK Ryan Smyth - Jarret Stoll - Justin Williams 37
5 EV CGY Jarome Iginla - Matt Stajan - Alex Tanguay 36
6 EV BOS Nathan Horton - David Krejci - Milan Lucic 35
7 EV DET Todd Bertizzi - Valtteri Filppula - Johan Franzen 32
7 EV PIT Sidney Crosby - Pascal Dupuis - Chris Kunitz 32
9 EV TOR Mikhail Grabovski - Nikolai Kulemin - Clarke MacArthur 31
10 EV DET Pavel Datsyuk - Tomas Holmstrom - Henrik Zetterberg 29
Whatcha doin there Toronto?
When you add 3 man lines powerplay production, to the 3 man line even strength chart, you get:
1. Washington - Ovechkin, Backstrom, Semin - 65 pts.
2. San Jose - Heatley, Thornton, Marleau - 63 pts.
3. Dallas - Eriksson, Richards, Neal - 56 pts.
4. Anaheim - Perry, Getzlaf, Ryan - 46 pts.
5. Toronto - MacArthur, Grabovski, Kulemin - 42 pts.
No wonder Ron Wilson doesn't want to break this line up. But Anton, why aren't the leafs undefeated with such a strong offensive lineup?
- "Edmonton has three line combos that have produced 19 or more even strength points each, while Detroit has a 29 point AND a 32 point line. San Jose has a 20 point and a 19 point line, Montreal has a 19 and 17 point line. This depth is something lacking in the Leafs offense. At even strength, the Leafs 2nd most productive unit is the Kessel, Bozak, Versteeg unit, which has produced all of 6 points. That would rank it as the 209th line in the NHL at even strength... yes that's pretty atrocious."
- The numbers are slightly misleading because not many coaches actually keep fixed lines. Ron Wilson, for all his touted juggling, does less of it than most. Sidney Crosby, when you add up all the lines he's played on, has 50 points, but no set line he plays on has over 35 points when you combine both their PP and ES numbers.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Looking back on the week, I don't think it's any surprise that the Leafs won the two games they put forth an acceptable effort or that they were dummied in the two games where they couldn't be bothered. They're a young team.
Edmonton, of course, can be forgiven because they are really young. Not as young as the Leafs mind you, Glenn Healy, but why would you research something when it's just easier to slam the Leafs.
Also PK Subban was -3. In a 3-1 Loss. Which shall be immortalized in the form of .gifs

Have a nice weekend, MTL![]()
Heatley Marleau and Thorton (and pavelski) have a PP-combined 43 points.
Backstrom Ovechkin Semin (Laich) are second overall with a combined PP total of 35.
As for even strength
13 EV WAS Nicklas Backstrom - Alexander Ovechkin - Alexander Semin 25
22 EV WAS Nicklas Backstrom - Michael Knuble - Alexander Ovechkin 18
5 PP points they got along with Laich and Knuble… so they’re actually at 35+25+5= 65 pts. It was a good line.
How the fuck are those "points" calculated? They aren't goals, and they aren't points so I don't know what the fuck they are doing.
He's not looking at points by an individual, Say if AO scores and Laich or Knuble are on the ice, or if Kulemin scores and Grabbo assists without MacArthur. All 3 must be present on the ice to get points in this chart, whether they have an extra man on the PP or not.

Fucking Olli Jokinen sig lol.
god not even a minute in, how are the Hawks so fucking bad at defending when the puck goes behind their own net...
I KNEW I shoulda not played him. I thought though, he hasn't played in five games, maybe he'll play good, inspired by Crawford's recent play. FML
Sup Brouwer on the PP! Now, if only the Hawks can remember how to play defense....
WHAT THE HELL DAMN CRAP
jesus fucking christ it's like some sort of NHL95 glitch, take puck behind net, pass it back to the middle, instant goal
Hawks score to tie the game 2-2 and then the Avs score 23 seconds later and go up 3-2. I'm at a loss for words.....
Also brb, killing myself because I decided to play Turco tonight....
god fuck this game it's going to give me a heart attack
