This is pretty much what Niemi showed last year. He wasn't amazing, he was an above average goalie behind a pretty stacked team that allowed a relatively low number of shots on goal.

He likely wont do as well in San Jose. Their Defense is pretty thin now. Outside of Boyle im not really sure what else they have. Who is he paired with anyways?

Shame San Jose couldn't deal Nabokov, I thought he'd be good value as a workhorse goalie with a few blemishes on the card, but I guess the money's right in the KHL.

Totally agree on Niemi, even during the cup finals he was talked about as the question mark on Chicago. Heatley/marleau/thorton will produce, but the back end is in trouble

Niemi still looks like Niemi. Looks pretty average most of the game, lets in a softy at some point, makes a couple of monster saves at the end when the game is on the line. He'll do fine this year.

Columbus had a couple of huge chances at the end and he made 2-3 really nice saves.
