Suspensions from Pens/Isles game: Islanders' Trevor Gillies suspended for nine games, Matt Martin for four games and Penguins' Eric Godard suspended for 10 games. Islanders get fined 100,000.

Fucking Caps. Motherfucking Caps. For one game only I'm glad Jornaa doesn't post much anymore, because the Kings fucking bitchslapped us in the 3rd and I would pretty much just have to lay back and take it. It was one of the worst periods of hockey I've ever seen from this team. I actually apologized to my dad for getting us tickets to such a shitty game. The Sharks game on Tuesday wasn't much better.

I don't want to get off on a rant here, but this team is really fucking depressing. Last April I thought they learned something about winning games when it counts, but BB's change of strategery has gone from a more "balanced" team to stopping scoring goals:

Goals per game, '09-'10: 3.75 (1st)
Goals per game, '10-'11: 2.62 (t-19th)

Goals against per game, '09-'10: 2.72 (16th)
Goals against per game, '10-'11: 2.37 (6th)

So they've improved defensively by 0.35 GPG, at the expense of 1.13 GPG offensively. Pretty good tradeoff. Their powerplay stinks. They suffer from mental lapses constantly. Jeff Schultz has gone from rock-solid to invisible. No one is scoring goals. No forecheck. No consistency whatsoever. I love all the "Young Guns" promos they shot for Ovie, Semin, Backstrom and Green. Too bad the four most valuable players this year have probably been Carlson, Alzner, Varlamov and Neuvirth. I'm used to the Cubs having no shot at a championship with two months left, but not the Caps. This is utter bullshit and it might be time for Boudreau to go. Maybe McPhee as well. I love him to death, and I don't mind minor tweaks to the roster when you're cruising to the best record in the East, but for God's sake do something you worthless sacks of shit. You and your fat fucking toad of a coach. I swear to God and sonny Jesus I will not spend one more dime on tickets, jerseys, or anything else the color red until this team grabs itself by the fucking sack and plays some hockey worth watching.

Looks about what I had hoped for. Also, the league decided not to suspend Bylsma (there is an automatic associated with Godard's leaving the bench that they waved due to circumstances).
