Today's more or less the first 'real' day of hockey, 24 of 30 teams are playing(Center Ice channels are per my cable provider, may be different on yours):

A lot of these games I really want to see, I may bring my laptop to my buddy's where I'm watching Wings/Hawks lol. The most interesting games to me are the opener playing now, Stars/Isles(just because both teams are big ?'s atm), Wings/Hawks(obviously), and Thrashers/Bolts just because I can't wait to see how Tampa looks.

And yeah actually, a 6m-ish hit is not bad at all for one of the better Ds and the team's leader. Keep in mind his cap hit is about the same as Wade Redden's, and $1.3m less than Brian Campbell's, lol

edit: It looks like his current cap hit is $7.5m, so they're actually even saving money with the new extension

Camalleri was only gone for one game, he should be back tonight vs. the Pens, no idea on Markov.

Also a PD snippet re: overpaid defensemen:

His 2011-12 cap number (via NHL Numbers) will drop him below those for players like Brian Campbell of the Chicago Blackhawks ($7.140), Jay Bouwmeester of the Calgary Flames ($6.680) and Dan Boyle of the San Jose Sharks ($6.667), and put him in line with Dion Phaneuf of the Toronto Maple Leafs ($6.5 million).

In terms of skill/system, maybe not, but it's like old EA Sports games, where the only difference between the good players and the bad players was the good ones were twice as fast.

In all seriousness, I know NHL teams already scout players overseas, but I think Detroit should scout the Czech arena music guy, because he's fucking awesome
