So I went to the Stars/Devils game last night in NJ. Was awesomeeee to see those annoying ass Jersey fans get beat in their own arena on their opening night. I swear that fanbase is so annoying, from the "RANGERS SUCK" chants at games where the Rangers aren't even playing, to chanting "YOU SUCK" during their goal songs. There was a fight that broke out in my section between some drunk guido and a white trash chick who was celebrating WWE style after she got kicked out. Great way to perpetuate stereotypes.

Was reading some stuff over the offseason about how Scott Arniel uses a pretty different forecheck system, I can't really tell what exactly is different about it other than it seems like one D is perma-pinching with a forward up higher to cover back defensively. That said, it looks like it works really, really well so far, they're always on top of the puck when it's in the Sharks' zone.

Longest second period ever...gotta wonder if San Jose is actually planning on playing the way they can at some point and putting this game away, Columbus is playing really well defensively but it feels like they're trying their best to just hold on without actually generating any of their own chances.

Great, gritty win by Columbus. Still don't think they're going to be a playoff team due to how stacked the West is, but they really earned this one, glad to see them not lose in a shootout or some shit like that.
