ARE YOU KIDDING ME
ARE YOU KIDDING ME
Well then, that was short-lived. Sharpie needs to stop making such handsome passes and shoot the damn puck.
You can't tell that man to not be handsome. Shit doesn't mathpute.
ah, goddamnit
I can't wait to see what Cherry is going to say on HNIC. He's huge on hits like that, yet everyone knows he has a soft spot for the Bruins. The ruling is very disappointing, as everybody expected something....anything. Absolutely nothing at all? Not even a fine? Way to send a message NHL.
And on the Phoenix issue!... I'd do Darcy Olsen.
That is all.
SOOOOOOOOOOOO HANDSOME
SO HANDSOME
Lidstrom high sticked, pass out to the point, PPG against with no call. Not so happy about that.
I think it more has to do with the various comments the players were making to the media after the Jan 8 and Feb 9 games about various Habs players...similar to the Bertuzzi incident the way various Canuck players were voicing threats to Moore about what he did to Naslund.
Perhaps a bit late, but I'll give my input as a Habs fan that isn't poisoned by the Montreal media/hype/current mob mentality...
First, I seriously hope no one thinks that Chara intended to do that to Pacs. Second, it was a really freak outcome of an otherwise normal hit. Should Chara have backed off? Definitely. I definitely think that Chara's mindset was, "Here's this young kid that shoved me after scoring the OT winner, I'm going to show him what's up." I believe that Chara's intent was to put Pacs into the Bruins' bench, and not to put him into the stanchion. If this had been along the boards, Pacs would have gotten up from a heavy hit and we wouldn't be discussing this. At the speed hockey is played, so much can happen in a second, and that's what makes the sport great. Injuries happen, and I pray that Pacs comes back from this
Overall, I felt that Chara should have gotten a two game suspension solely because the hit did result in a very serious injury to another player. I think it was Kevin Weekes on NHL on the Fly that said Chara should have taken an extra two strides and then wiped Pacs out, and I would agree with that. Pacs is my favorite Hab, and it sucks to see him go down like this and not know the full details, specifically when he'll be back/if he'll have a future.
Also, even if the stanchion had been rounded, I really doubt the injury would have been any less. The initial impact with the stanchion was part one, part two was his impact with the ice. We can't round ice to absorb more energy when a player hits it. Here's hoping that an extremely promising, extremely gifted player makes a full recovery and has a brilliant career in the NHL. Here's also to hoping that Chara reaches out to Pacioretty and owns up to what's happened, even if it wasn't his intent.
Post comments - I'm working 80 hours per week currently, and have had a few beers. Hopefully I made some sort of sense. :D
Right off the damn face off, Hawks tie!
MEAT. BALL.
Toews <3
Chara made an illegal hit. That means he is responsible for the outcome of that hit. Doesn't matter if the real damage was done by the stanchion, done by the ice, done by the zamboni driving over the player afterwards. Chara, when he made the decision to make an illegal hit, became responsible for the outcome of the hit. It doesn't matter if his intention was to injure. It doesn't matter what his intention was. He's responsible for putting a player out for the season, perhaps for a career.
Anyone who supports less than a massive suspension is dumb.

Jump to 1:02, watch the hit from there, and tell me theres no shove into the stanchion >.>

Air Canada, one of the NHL's largest financial corporate backers, is threatening to withdraw its sponsorship if the league doesn't take "immediate" and "serious" action on headshots, QMI Agency has learned.
Shitty way to end a game knowing that the GWG was scored when it shouldn't have been in play. Despite that not a fantastic effort by the Wings, and a good game by Quick.
jeez, lots of shit coming out now
add on to the fact that Colin Campbell's son plays for the Bruins...hmmmA league source said several teams were upset Chara wasn't suspended. The Bruins carry a lot of weight at the league level -- owner Jeremy Jacobs is the chairman of the board.
What a stop by Roloson.
And by Crawford! What a game!
This overtime was nuts, camaaaaaaan Crawford
Stamkos posts a spinorama lol
