I don't think this is entirely the result of those trades though. Clearly the goalie swap is not working at all, although I don't think Anderson would be doing as well if he was still on the Avs. Johnson has done well on the Avs, but Stewart has been seemed pretty fantastic on the Blues so that one seems tilted away from the Avs as well at this moment. That trade probably won't be fair to evaluate until we see what kind of players they get with the picks.

The Avs have much bigger problems than just trading down in goalie quality, losing a forward who didn't play for them most of the season, and a rookie defenseman.

From what I can tell they need to fire their GM first. He traded away a goalie that he could have built in front of, at least in the short term. Now, not only does he have to improve his defense, and the Colorado defense is pretty brutal right now, but he also has to find a new goalie or run with Budaj. Their forwards are decent but they don't have much depth. I was really kind hoping last year wasn't a fluke because they were pretty exciting to watch but now they shipped out the players I found most interesting. Became a huge Chris Stewart fan last year.

Buf/Tor has been a decent game to watch. Glad to see Tor is ahead right now. Gives me someone to root for until the seasons over since Canucks are locked for the playoffs at this point.

Sure they're playing D and winning some games, but it's just not their old exciting play style. I watch the Caps play these days and it just looks like an average team, making a big mess and relying mostly on luck to score goals. I guess I'd rather see a good game where my team loses, than watch a boring trap win.
