2010-2011 NHL Season Thread

I'm really wondering, speaking of the Ducks, if stupid ass Corey Perry is going to get the Hart just because he's the only 50 goal scorer this year. He benefited mostly from the line he was on, so I'd say that he shouldn't get it on that merit alone because you could have replaced him with almost anyone and still put up big numbers with Ryan and Getzlaf. It'd be really hard to overlook Kessler, Thomas, the Sedins, Lundqvist, or maybe even Toews/Sharp as they both pretty much carried the Hawks the last two months.

Plus, going out to bars on weekends to watch games is ok, but I'm not gonna go out to a bar every night to watch games and drink, when I have to work the next morning lol.

Perry doesn't deserve it because of who he played with, Toews will get less votes because he cooled off in the last 2 weeks of the season after everyone started riding him for Hart candidate, Sedins are hard to vote for because they take votes from each other, Kessler was probably the 4th most important player on the Nucks. Thomas, Rinne, and Price are actually probably the 3 actual "most valuable" players to their respective teams, as I think each is significantly weaker without them.

To me it's a shame Datsyuk was injured so much this year, if he had played close to a full season I think it would be in the discussion, or at least for the Lindsay.

Also Abdelkader's hit probably shouldn't warrant a suspension, but it's close enough that I wouldn't really complain about it. It absolutely should have been a penalty though.

I tend to err very highly on the side of caution. I'm a petite woman, I'd be somewhat liquored up, and a bunch of pissed hockey fans? I might just present myself as an easy target.

Start a vent because I'll be in florida. They watch Fox News in the bars before hockey. It's like, spring baseball->Fox News->Basketball





















->Winter sport-y thing because the only canadian in florida showed up at my bar. And only if we can switch back to spring baseball during breaks. Theres like 8 flatscreens on the Sarah Palin Show while a few canucks and some folks from chicago are huddled around the blurry, small tv in the corner for Stanley Cup Playoffs.
