Whats the energy like in the Garden? Is it like most major cities where the upper bowel is party central while the lower bowl is too busy checking their blackberries to enjoy the game?
I had the most fun in the upper seats at MSG. I got heckled pretty hard for wearing a Sabres jersey, but it was fucking fun as shit. Guys shook my hand after the game lol.
The lower seats were pretty boring, pretty much a bunch of guys taking their girlfriends to a Rangers game.
Izzy is pretty spot on...the lower bowl, 100-200's are pretty mediocre. Lots of "suits" with their ladies, either stroll in halfway through the game, or get there on time and leave at that point. Dolan has done an excellent job of pricing the fanbase out of the building.
The upper levels are good, better mix of blue collar folk...more cheering and bantering about the game, which is how I like it. Whenever I've sat down in the 100-200's for whatever reason I always get dirty looks cause I don't quietly watch the game.
Edit: And I've brought girlfriends to Rangers games, they always love it
That all being said, energy during the home opener is always tops...one of the few times during the year we'll have a legit full house (even though MSG always reports otherwise)
No Patrick Kane tonight for the Hawks. Also Fabian Brunnstrom was placed on waivers by Dallas. That's pretty lol considering how many teams wanted that kid two years ago.
Wasn't that the other kid that scored a hat trick in his first game?
Yeah, he was.
Maybe tonight the Hawks will actually play Turco and help my fantasy team out since they've gone with Crawford the last two games. >=/
I have good news about the NHL coming back to equilibrium!
Detroit might not have a goalie they can trust
Johan Franzen got injured in October
Anaheim is still trying to punch people to win games
Dallas gave Mike Modano a standing ovation (even though he was on the wrong team)
Edmonton, Calgary, and Carolina all lost on the same day (although they lost to Minnesota, Florida, and Ottawa... so I am not sure that is such a good sign)
Wings fans complain about a legal hit that resulted in Franzen's concussion.
Things are (sort of) coming back to normal.
edit: despite this, Tampa Bay, Toronto, Nashville, Dallas, and Edmonton are still leading their divisions so you should probably prepare for the apocalypse too.
Don't forget the Canucks squandered a lead and lost to an inferior opponent! It's all balancing out.
But there is still no explanation for Toronto winning games. Asides from Burke offering his Dave Nonis' soul to the devil.
Im stuck at work, can anyone help me out with a link to watch Penguins-Islanders on my laptop?
Duncan Keith is averaging 32 minutes a game 4 games into the season, he is going to be dead come the end of the season.
uggh another Turco fluke/softy
HOLY GOD THIS GAME.
Leafs up 2-1, MacArthur with the mark. Gaborik heading to the dressing room, reasons unknown. Lundqvist is on fire, but when the leafs get in the zone they don't leave EVER.
Great shit to watch.
Edit: Leafs up 3-1, Bozak to Kessel give n go in a 4v4 situation, they literally outran the defense from the leafs blue line lololololol
The Pens are incredibly boring to watch when Malkin and Crosby are not playing well.
MSG is fuckin silent. SOG 22-9 Leafs.
Toronto on the PP again, thanks Avery
Got the shorty back!
