We almost won earlier when Kaberle deked through all 5 rangers, but his centering pass was cut off by Lundqvist.

The team plays like a bunch of try-hards. I dont know how long it will last, but the Kessel/Bozak/STEEG line is warp speed fast and the MacArthur Grabovski Kulemin line grinds you with fast forecheck and Robbin's your hood. It comes down to pure thievery in the neutral zone, and then once they're in your side, they're like the bugs from starship troopers, they just keep coming, with strong forecheck and an excellent job of cutting off breakouts. Bunch of stand up, faster-than-you, dirty thieving try hards.

The PK last year was abyssmal, now it's 90%. They play 3 back with 1 angry motherfucker. Whoever is closest to the puck ATTACKS VICIOUSLY and doesn't afraid of anything, usually Sjostrom. The ferocity usually scares the shit out of the PP team, and they have trouble doing set plays when you're constantly getting steamrolled.

Seriously, finally finding a winger for Kessel's line has made all the difference. Even though he didn't get an assist tonight, Versteeg's passes and play in the neutral zone makes that 2 1strounders-for-Kessel trade look a hell of a lot less apocalyptic than last year.

The thing is, the Leafs don't have a chance to win the Cup because Kris Versteeg is improved, or even talented to begin with. They have a chance because Kris Versteeg is Kris Versteeg. That is all.

Except the refs completely gave the game to the leafs. The 3rd goal was the DIRECT result of referee interference, the ref tripped Anisimov causing him to lose the puck, and basically kicked Callahan's stick away from the puck allowing the leafs to create an odd man rush.
