Except the refs completely gave the game to the leafs. The 3rd goal was the DIRECT result of referee interference, the ref tripped Anisimov causing him to lose the puck, and basically kicked Callahan's stick away from the puck allowing the leafs to create an odd man rush.

The refs had a bad night all around, not just for the Leafs. There were BS penalties that went both way.

But the bullshit calls never completely interfered directly with the play, causing one team to score a goal, I can think of one bad one against the leafs, and the interference call against Staal in OT was just abysmal.

Versteeg's passes and play in the neutral zone makes that 2 1strounders-for-Kessel trade look a hell of a lot less apocalyptic than last year.

You like it when it's helping the team but wait til he coughs the puck up at the blue line or top of the circles and causes an odd man rush against you lol. It'll happen one or twenty times over the year. He gets away with it though because he can score, and he's a solid player at both ends, just tries to do too much sometimes.

Luongo continues to crush Callisto's fantasy team goalie stats. Thats pretty much the only good thing I could take out of tonight. I stopped watching after the first period because I knew what was coming. Nights like tonight are why I was really nervous about people saying the Canucks were stanley cup contenders, sure they looked good on paper but right now they're really missing something, I shudder to think that Burrows is the key.

That 3rd goal where the ref just totally tied up the stick of Anisimov was bullshit. Yes the Rangers looked like shit till the 3rd, but god damn the lack of calls, and subsequently the calls with 2 minutes left in periods was fucking retarded. The Rangers PP was crap though, so it doesn't matter. Rangers still deserved to lose that one.

The only periods that mattered were the third and OT, of which Leafs had 2 PP's coming down the stretch. One was a delay of game, flipping the puck over the glass. Nothing retarded about that.

The second one occurred in OT after the puck was chipped in, the leaf tried to pass Stall along the boards and he got checked by Stall, presumably after a change, because Stall came from center to deliver the hit. The posession rule-of-thumb is arm length plus stick, and at the point of contact the puck was past the half-boards, crossing the goal line as he got checked by Stall at the blue.

A player may “block” the path of an opponent provided he is in front of his opponent and moving in the same direction. Moving laterally and without establishing body position, then making contact with the non-puck carrier is not permitted and will be penalized as interference.

Criteria satisfied. You can skate in the way of the chipper, but you can't deliver a full check after he has chipped, especially as Stall was skating from center ice to cover the wing (had no body position on the wing). It was either gonna be a legal very late hit, or it was interference, and the ref said 2 minutes.

So, I hope you aren't disputing the game winner, otherwise cry some more http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:9...ars/c28705.png. Avery should have got 4 for retardation, but the leafs should have scored on the 5 v 3. At any rate I thought it was pretty fair.
