I hope those Hawk fans decrying his signing last year (when he was injured and killed their cap space) and his lack of scoring in the playoffs (despite being the best 2 way player on the roster) are eating their words this season.

There weren't a whole lot, the only grumbles were because on paper they let an aging offensively-talented European with a bum shoulder go so that they could sign...an aging offensively talented European who immediately said he was about to undergo shoulder surgery. Once he actually started playing everyone was pretty well behind him around here. Most people recognized he was busting his ass in the playoffs and just having bad luck with pucks not going in, and the Nashville game-winner is pretty much instant-legend around these parts.

I don't think there was any fans here in the city that were against his signing to be completely honest. Everyone knew he was gonna rock the house when he was healthy and everyone saw how hard he was working in the playoffs, despite not scoring.

Edit: To go with Cally said, some people, like five, were all "Why did you let Havlat go after the season he had last year?" But anyone could see, Hossa was a much better piece than Marty lol.
