Changes between beta and release?

Gotta' love it...

If you agree with legitimate complaints, you just blend in.

If you disagree and debate over illegitimate/ridiculous/false complaints, you are a "white knight" or "corporate apologist."

Anyways. How about them changes?

I noticed they fixed the mob-name colors', making them way more obvious when they are claimed by you vs. others.

I edited my last post after you replied to clarify my point.

I havent seen gridania at all. Maybe the place is super awesome and all, but other area didn't leave me a good impression. I havent seen whale town, but wineport and aleport, while nice additions, are simply not enough to create an immersion in the lore. The world need much more than this to feel complete.

Pretty much everything was summed up... my guess is that there will be gameplay updates when the game officially goes live.

Have they still not added Ixal mobs to the Black Shroud? I feel like pretty much all the other mentioned beastmen clans are out and about. Oh yeah, no Sahagin yet either?

I think those mobs are a part of the faction leves, and later when we get access to the beast tribe regions, there'll be a lot more of them in those areas.

Why are you talking about "every npc" when 99% are in town. The argument started with "beside cities and mission"...I'm not sure why you bring up cities npc now when I made no complaints about them.

I'm not saying there is no lore in the game, I know there is. I'm saying there is no lore when you're out in the field, and it makes the world look fucking empty. Once you leave the city gate...forget the story, the only thing out there is trees, grasses, rocks and monsters.

The three of you come to the defense of FFXIV way more often than your average posters. It has nothing to do with this argument, but the overall impression I get from all your posts. Hyan will always be the #1 thought.

About my "illegitimate complaints", I'm not the only one who pointed how bland the world is outside city. It's great to have a complex world history, but it need some follow up when you explore the world.

It's great that you're happy with the current amount of lore, but it's not enough for me. I want more, I want to be able to go explore the world and find a ton of tidbits about its history and its resident.

In fact, each time we complain about an issue in a game or how some people defend those issues, we're actually just referring to you instead of some people. And I share your need for more flavor to the game. YES, the storyline is pretty damn sweet for the 2 storyline quests I have gotten to. But where are the side-quests? Where is the dick who steals my key item? HELL, WHERE ARE THE KEY ITEMS? Where is the random beggar asking me to retrieve his 'soiled loincloth +2' from a ravenous crapavore?

I have one questline available. (not counting leves.. which have little story or interaction to them).

ONE FUCKING QUEST. FOR A FINAL FANTASY.

yes, It is a great quest, but its fucking bare bones for a FF.

I gotta agree with this post. The lack of ANY other quests is really annoying, FFXI at least had a few, granted they didnt give shit and were worthless at start but they were there. In this day and age, I don't mind grinding on shit..just give me a reason to grind on shit, or a reward.

Given that SE continuously claims that they built FFXIV's culture starting from the ground up leads me to believe they don't intend to world to be bland for long. It's what I'm most confident of in the game actually.

FFXIII sucked hard. FFXIV isn't looking that much better. Unless they somehow update the crap out of it in the next week, this game will flop.

How many subs do you consider a flop? Let's face it, XI was about as niche as it gets.. I don't see why XIV will be much different.

I'm not in love with the game atm, but I think given some time it will be fairly good.
