Ladies and gentlemen, you are looking to the face of pure evil...

I went exploring a few places that are not often visited by players. A few shots of some factories, but mostly of the Sylph village and NE Black Shroud terrain which is much different than the terrain in the rest of the Black Shroud. I forgot I could toggle names until like half way through my expedition, so please forgive me. :3
Spoilered because there is a lot! Originally taken at 1920 resolution. Resized to 1280.
Spoiler: show
As you can see, this portion of Black Shroud is very unique when compared to the rest of the Black Shroud. SE really should have tried to make each section of the region as unique. This section is wide open but full of bottomless pits and pretty architecture and flowers. Central Black Shroud (in the Grade 10 area near the starter area) is full of rivers and bridges. Should have expanded that to the entire area. Western Black Shroud has portions where its all river and marsh and you actually run around in the rivers. Should have made that entire section like that. Definitely makes each region feel distinct. Just needed to go further with that.
Awesome screens, I've never seen the Black Shroud unique areas.. makes me excited for the stuff they have yet to unlock for us.
All areas have lotsa places like that, but Yoshida went and f'ed 'em up.. even by only shrinking the areas (removing the filler) should do wonders at this point.
Not sure what Yoshida has done to ruin any zones? I don't believe he has touched mob distribution/diversity, added (or removed) gates to make areas more accessible, or had anything to do with the actualy game world yet. It has all been System, UI, SP, Items, animation tweaks, ect. Feel free to debate this in another thread.
However, if you could provide meaningful examples of which zones and where have uniqueness like this, I'd like to know. Thanalan has um, its transitional chasms between regions and interior mountain peak areas with lakes. La Noscea has....? Coerthas has...?
Black Shroud is the only zone I've seen with any meaningful differences between each of its regions so far.
Akihiko Yoshida, the art director.
Yeah, from what I remember Thanalan has the chasms and and a kind of odd-looking forest-like valley somewhere. They could have given each region a theme like that and made the regions more compact. La Noscea has some pretty beach areas at least, could've made it like Valkurm. Haven't been to Coerthas myself.
But I agree that Black Shroud looks like it has the most variety so far.
6 man Great Buffalo. New Record for us!

I'd be more impressed with your 6 man buffalo if I hadn't just watched 3 THM's kill Dodore, 2 of which were 1 person dual boxing.
Dodore is one of the easiest NMs fights imo.
Watched a 50 THM and a 38 CON almost duo it.
