Uninstall current drivers through the config panel, reboot and install the first package on that page Full Catalyst Software Suite (Recommended)

Never used AMD/ATI graphic cards but I guess that's how it goes.

I really do not think its a disc problem. I tried installing the game on my laptop and it worked just fine. I used the same disc on my desktop and I got this error. Could it be a problem with windows xp?

2 ways :

Download and install Daemon Tools and "mount" the .iso, it will act as a DVD Drive, but virtual, directly from your HDD.

or

Just open the .iso with Winrar, double click ffxivsetup.exe inside and it will start installing.

EDIT: I figured it out its installing now! lets hope all go's well hehe. Thanks alot for the suggestions everyone it really helped me out a ton.

UPDATE: It worked just perfectly!!! I would suggest going into your game folder and downloading the updates via utorrent instead of the game client tho!
