XIV Desktop; Opinions and Advice Wanted

Ok, so up front I should state that I haven't ever built a desktop before. I've read alot of the various threads regarding this general topic, here and elsewhere. I'm pretty sure i've gotten everything that needs to be there. Sorry in advance if each entry is alittle cluttered.

Desktop components: (entirely off Newegg, i've looked other places for deals on similar components, but it'd just get needlessly messy to include them here)

Also, i'll be running Win. 7 64-bit. This desktop will be devoted soley to running XIV, so if that helps in your directing your comments/opinions.

    Thanks.

downgrade processor to i7 930, the 950 is a waste of money and buy a good CPU Cooler.

Then just overclock the 930, theres tutorials all over the web and its easy.

Processor prices have changed over the last few months JRice, the 950 is 10-15 dollars more expensive than the 930 and overclocks better.

I got a 950 for under a 930's price at Fry's a month ago. Anyway, I just built mine with a similar setup to what you have planned, except motherboard is an Evga X58 (758) and I got the ram rated at 1600Mhz, overclocked it to 4Ghz and running FFXIV smoothly with back buffer set at 1x and antialiasing at max. (Back buffer at 2x kills it though)

Benchmark should give you 6000-6200 ish...

Be sure to include extra fans or water-cool for overclocking...if you do
