Really? Colt doesn't matter anymore since the end of Season 2/3 what need is there to develop a story about him? Finch was only needed for his ashes, would you really want more backstory in 44 minutes? Cas's story will be told over the reason of the season. Why are you acting like this is new. It'll develop over the weeks, sorry they don't lay it all out on the table in the first five minutes and take any kind of element of surprise out. Go away, you're trying too hard.

I for one wouldn't have minded seeing more of the characters. The 'previously on' recap was longer than any segment on Finch or Colt. Both characters had some solid multi-story potential. Yes, the Cas story has been going all year, so let's introduce a new character and kill her within 5 minutes of screen time. Like I said, this episode was all over the place compared to previous ones.

This whole season is like that. We have a big bad but we really have little to no idea what she's really up to. She wants to kill all the humans? So do all of the other bad guys on the show. There are 3 episodes left (4 hours) with little hint of any impending confrontation.

As far as the angel war...
"We can't let Raphael win" "Why?" "We can't let Raphael win" er... ok. Though, I will say, Cas's little dark side twist may turn out nicely. It's still pretty vague though. Fans are going so far as to suggest he'll be a secondary bad guy next year. Why? Because Eve and Raphael are about as dynamic a villian as a pile of dog shit.

I'd still give the season a B, but it's still a bit of a let down after last year which was by far the best season of the show. I have faith in the team, because so far they haven't let me down, but so far this season is off the rails a bit.

Fuck it. Anyway in a nutshell: This season has had zero story flow, far too much fan service (I can't believe I think it's been too much fan service) and far too little storyline progress, for almost being at season's end. So I agree with Eticket.

Except for the part about season 5 being the best. Season 1 would like a word good sir, tyvm.

The main arcs are Season 1-2 and 4-5, so you can start with 3 or you could also start with 6.
But really, I know it's a dick move to go against your given of "I can't start with S1", but you really do need to start there.

I agree, it's best to start at 1, but if you don't want to bother, I guess 3 or 4.

The thing is, the Pilot starts with the plot driving season 1, which in turns sets in motion season 2, and so on. It literally spans like this endless story. Each season is definitely not self-contained.

Had me rolling. Also, liked this episode and am intrigued by the little twist they threw in with Cas that was mentioned in the Titanic episode, and last week too with the female angel. Clear to me that this story arc will carry over to next season after reading the announcement about season 7, and the way this is moving alone at it's current pace.

Just be happy that she "morphed" into another actor for pretty much the entire episode so we didn't have to deal with the horrible acting
