They've had the Civil War going on since the beginning of this season/end of Season 5, throwing in Eve was just too much for this season and could've been another season on her own.

Loved how they wrote it as kind of a flashback story within the main story, like how they did for the season 5 finale. Interesting twist for sure, next episode looks like it won't disappoint at all.

Nah next Friday is the two hour series finale of Smallville, so this will be off til the 20th. Although out in Chicago it said to catch a special two hour finale on 5-22...so either the show is being bumped for one our our shitty baseball teams, or there's a regular episode on the 20th and the finale on the 22nd which is two hours. I'm leaning towards baseball in my market, so I would see the finale after the rest of the country.

There are two distinct episodes in this two-hour fire-and-brimstone buffet event. For the appetizer, "Let It Bleed," Dean faces his worst nightmare when Lisa and Ben are unexpectedly abducted. In the main course finale, "The Man Who Knew Too Much," the war in Heaven comes to a head. Castiel faces off with Raphael and the walls holding back Sam's memories of Hell crumble. Someone (human? angel? demon?) will die and someone will be transformed. Prepare to gasp, possibly cry and write angry forum entries. Oh, and sorry, John Winchester won't show his face for the finale.

Who will die? Who will be transformed? I've seen a lot of speculation about the transformation. Most popular theory atm is an angel transforming, ie falling, to become human. The preview does have what seems like an angel's grace exploding. I'm not sure it's necessarily Castiel, though. Could be Raphael. Maybe he can't kill him, but Raphael ending up stuck in mortal form would probably suck for him? Deaths... well, Crowley might be a candidate, though not sure who'd take over as King of Hell after him.

I have no idea how it will go from here, but I don't think they'll kill off Bobby, Castiel, Sam and Dean, as they're too loved characters.

I'm betting on the little kid dieing, and Dean's girlfriend becoming an angel. I suppose it's possible Castiel becomes human, although I don't see how that would work. I don't think three people going on hunts together would work well for the show, what would Castiel's new role be? Bobby has his, Castiel has his. It'd be pointless making him human in future seasons, imo.

As it stands now they have to come up with reasons why Castiel can't be around because he's too fucking overpowered in most cases. They made at least two remarks about that in the last episode alone. I can see Castiel becoming human and having to cope with it for a season, and then God giving him his Angel powers back after he has learned his lesson from the Winchesters.

Sam and Dean's petulant child routine was really grating on me this episode. Thanks for pulling me out of hell Cas. Thanks for all of the countless times you've saved our asses. You're like a brother to us. Just... you know... not enough to give you the benefit of the doubt. Even though we worked with Crowley a lot ourselves and the whole apocalypse thing we worked our asses off to stop would start right back up again if you failed.

The reason he's so powerful is because he "borrowed" 50k souls from Crowley. If he betrays Crowley, Crowley could probably take them back, making Castiel return to normal. Although if he gets control of Purgatory and claims those souls, he'd be extremely powerful. My guess is that it would only be a temporary one, though - or if it lasts for a prolonged time, he'll be too busy fighting the war to help them out much. In either case, my guess is that it will only last as long as the rebellion lasts. My guess is that Crowley will get purgatory though, and he will be the "ultimate bad buy" for next season.
