Supernatural Season 6

2hr finale was a letdown more so because of the way it was handled. The Sam wall coming down should have been way better then it was seemed very half assed, the whole first hour seemed like a slow mid season filler episode. We got no epic battle/anything at the end and hell not even a "wow" cliff hanger. The ending was a complete copout, crowley poofed away, Raphiel imploded it just seemed cheap, everyone has known for episodes now that once Cas got the purg souls he was going to go uber god there was no shock/surprise there, even if you were slow on the take you knew it from the begining of the finale because they made sure to make a point of saying it and ramping up the angsty Cas angle about how he feels betrayed, and noone bought the cheap fake out at the end where he gives Raphiel the blood that was horrible. /sigh anyway i really enjoyed this season til the ending it was just a meh way to end the season.

The first hour thing is because it was just another episode, but 2hr smallville made it not air and they decided to show two episodes, but bill as a finale, which was a bad move imo

Even at that it was a pretty weak episode to be aired before the finale should have focused more on each major plot point and split it between the last 2 episodes or had that episode go into other stuff they just left behind like heavens weapons, etc.

Did anyone else feel it was out of character for Cas to just clip Balthazar like he did? I mean ya he did it to other angels who confronted him and turned to side with Raphiel which i can understand, but Balthazar didnt side with Raphiel and was only helping the boys because he was afraid that absorbing that many souls would make Cas explode taking the world with him. Dean and Sam were going to contest it regardless and as much love as Cas had for them before getting juiced up i cant imagine him not understanding why Balthazar did what he did.

Yeah, he was definitely headed down that way already. Plus, Cas has a history of doing pretty shitty things when he believes they're right (like letting Sam out of the panic room in season 4, or tearing down the wall in his head).

I agree with this 100% but the way this line of events unfolded just seemed off, Cas knew regardless the Winchesters were going to pursue what they felt was right even if that meant a showdown with him, yet he steadily spared/helped/saved them because of how much he cared for them, so when Balthazar who seemed to be his closest angel ally at the time assisted them in this aspect i expected Cas to be upset with Balthazar but understand where he was coming from as he himself would have been doing the same, and even as shady as Balthazar is they were safer with him assisting them then on their own. I guess ill buy into the lust for power and anyone trying to oppose him in his plan to defeat Raphiel except for S & D were instant enemies. I just want old Cas back hes one of my favorites on the show and his characters new direction just sucks.

Series 5 was SUPPOSED to be the end, but it was picked up again. I dunno, with an ending like that though, there pretty much HAS to be a 7th season. That said... apparently Misha Collins isn't a season 7 regular... Kinda wonder what that means for Castiel.

Do you think that when Cas killed Balthazar that he may have already opened the door and absorbed all those souls? He seemed to have an 'aha' moment when he realised Balth was lying to him. I mean, Balthazar wasn't a convincing liar anyway, but Cas hasn't always been quick on the uptake. I figured he was reading Balthazar's mind or something. He also knew that Dean was on his way to stop him. Couldn't he have just poofed him further away or something. But then I guess perhaps he thought Dean wasn't any threat.

People seem to be thinking that Cas might be killed off in the first episode of season 7 because of some conversation in March with Ausello or something? In it, it was mentioned that someone would be killed off in the last episode of season 6 or the first episode of season 7. And now that Misha isn't a season regular anymore, that it's gonna be Cas that karks it.

Cas is gonna be what appears to be the big name conflict for Season 7, at least for part of it, I don't know how he would die in the first episode, surely not from the Winchesters. Also Misha being downgraded from season regular doesn't mean anything, I wouldn't look into it too much. Jim Beaver is listed in every episode that he was in as "Guest Star" and he was in probably half the season episodes.

I'm hoping that Cas sticks around. I mean, I can see season 7 being something along the lines of Sam and Dean [et al] trying to 'remove' Cas from godhood. I just hope it doesn't mean killing him. At least not in the first episode. :/

I dont think so, if i remember correctly he killed Balthazar before Crowley showed up with Rapiel to snatch the blood, if he was juiced then he would have taken out Raphiel right then, also considering the enormity and ritual involved in opening purgatory i'm sure there was a certain timeframe/fullmoon when the ritual had to be performed for it to work, he was doing his own ritual at the same time as Crowley was doing his as you see he poofed in right after it ended.

I fully expect Cas to remain most/all of the season, idk how much of it as their main advisary, as i'm hoping something happens to bring him back to old Cas. It seems they are doing the "we took care of the devil now we have to take care of god" just not sure how they are going to have that unfold. Bobby and Cas better not get killed off in the first episode that would be horrible. (However I could see them offing Cas early on by having that much power consume him causing him to implode, otherwise I dont see. A way they can beat Cas unless he realizes hes fucking up and reverts on his own. )
