I was thinking that myself actually, plus if he died in the past when Azazel possessed him, how would he even know who his family (the cousins) were? If he died in 1973, they would have no idea who he was, unless he just showed up and said "I'm your great grandad, let's go hunt." Just seems out of place...and something is up.

I liked it, has lots of promise so far to be another great season. Had a few "oh shit" moments and it's hard to tell that Sera Gamble wrote it and not Eric Kripke, so my worries about that aspect coming off is put to rest, at least so far.

She had written episodes before, so that wasn't ever going to be a problem.

I'm thinking the "campbells" aren't really who they say they are, there has to be a reason why dean kept seeing yellow eyes.

Yea, I know she's done some episodes in the past but for some reason I was just worried that with her writing the majority of everything this season, that it would feel different, but it doesn't seem like it will.

I don't think its the campbells, its probably something else taking their shape. They're probably using Sam and Dean for some purpose.

I just think they're more hardcore mean hunters. Like Sam implied to Dean when he wish there was someone with more heart/sympathy(?) with them.

I don't think they're actually the Campbells. I don't think it's really Sam, either, to be honest—or at least, there's something wrong with him.

There is no doubt something is up with gramps, either he is not who he appears to be or he has an agenda of his own. It was pretty obvious when him and the other campbell's pretended to off the second jinn and instead took off with him. I was concerned that this season would start the decline of the show, but I really enjoyed the premiere and it is looking like another badass season.

Samuel is definitely answering to someone evil. My guess is Azazel.

I don't think the rest of them are Winchesters at all. It doesn't make sense how Samuel would've found—or even known about—any of them. He probably died before any of them were born, and I doubt he knew how to use the internet prior to meeting them.

The idea that all monsters have progenitors is very interesting, though. I hope we'll meet more throughout the season.

it's possible he looked a lot older than the others, but then again that might be why they captured the djinn in the premiere to lure their Alpha to catch it.

Mmm I didnt think about that. This is true as well. They were also more evolved. Either they were closer to the Alpha (which is why they captured her) or just learned to use and cover their abilities better

Someone had a theory that there might be more Alphas of other species, also previously thought to be myths, showing up as the season progresses. It'd be interesting.

Yes Finally we get to see how things are going heaven side. Probably sets up another season arc (going along with the alphas) seeing as gods "Weapons" have been stolen. Angels, Demons and Alphas .. oh boy.

It seems like Balthazar will be back sometime too. In most fiction Balthazar is a demon so it will be interesting to see if that is where they're going.
