btw i didn't notice it before, but apparently the show airs on fridays now? can't imagine it'll go on past this season as a friday airtime is usually a death sentence for tv shows.

Supernatural is actually doing pretty well in the renew/cancel index. I don't think there is anything to worry about.

Been on Fridays since the first episode this season, CW paired it back up with Smallville, and has actually been getting the highest numbers on a Friday for the network in ages since doing so.

It started on Tuesdays, same as Smallville did when it began its run. Was moved to Thursdays in during the second part of season 1 and stayed there til this season

I'll never understand the logic of why they put a show that obviously targets males - whereas the majority is probably between 15-30 - on Friday nights, which is the day a lot of them will probably not even be home. Weekdays makes a whole lot more sense Of course viewership will drop if you put it on Friday nights, people don't stay home to watch Supernatural, they're out drinking and then download it or view it online.

A few rumros were floating that this season would be the last (then again season 5 was supposed to be the last) and that may be why it was moved to fridays. Team it up with smallville (which IS ending after this season) and free up a 2 hour block come next season. Who knows though

I wonder how they'll pull this off as seasons go on. Charmed got pretty fucking lame after whatever season they killed the Source and then you had a new being taking over Hell and coming after them. This is obviously how Supernatural is currently headed. Crowley will eventually die I'm sure, he could survive this season though, but how will they continue the show after Crowley eventually dies?

Loved the episode though, good stuff.
