When Planet Zebes explodes who will save the animals?

I haven't beaten the game, actually. I remember getting bored with it before reaching the end.
I might go back and replay it someday but probably not because I'd imagine I'd find it more boring these days than I did way back when.

It's pretty satisfying once you get stuff like the Plasma/Hyper/whatever it is Beam and Screw Attack the shit out of everything. I wish it had optional, more difficult boss fights though. Did you get through Zero Missions and/or Fusion? These are some of my fav video games
