Caution Concerning Use of Third Party Programs or Tools

As indicated in the Prohibited Activities in Final Fantasy XIV, use of third party programs or tools in FINAL FANTASY XIV is strictly prohibited, as they damage game balance and allow users to gain an unfair advantage over other players.

We have determined that a number of players are utilizing third party programs or tools. If you are found to have used such programs, your service account could face disciplinary measures. Additionally, there have been cases of malicious software being embedded in such programs, and users of such programs put themselves at risk of losing control of their character in-game, acquiring viruses, having personal information stolen, having their account compromised, and being the recipient of any number of harmful activities.

We would like all users to be able to play in a secure environment, and ask for your aid in adhering to our policies.

We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

I can only speak for NAs but every shitty part of the game was reported to S-E thousands of times. On stuff like the market wards the feedback was about 100 negative to 1 white knight and even then the white knight had to be equivocal. None of the feedback meant anything to S-E. Only when the money left their pockets did they start to care.

I think it's funny that they have to warn botters because they know the death spiral will get even worse if they ban them. Tons of the high ranking crafters bot. It would rip apart a lot of hardcore linkshells if they just banned them all and the hardcores are 90% of their playerbase.

I just lost a buccaneer's shirt because of bad game design. I forgot to check for full inventory before opening the chest. Since it's a chest reward rather than a leve reward it's not at the aetheryte. GM just sent me an automated response. Just another example of the horrible customer support this game has.

Well, it's tomorrow or Monday, since it's doubtful we'll get anything over the weekend. I'm hoping for something, since I can't imagine they would seriously let it go an entire week with nothing... But yeah. Not expecting anything anymore. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if the next update is another completely unnecessary Beginner's Q&A on Monday.

Really wish I knew what the fuck they're thinking. All they're doing is damaging relations with the player base further, I don't know how they can't possibly see that. Would be so easy to just post regular, steady, real information instead of intermittent canned updates, and it would keep people sated while they worked on what needed to be worked on. So stupid.

It seems through reading the future changes he wishes to make they are heading in the right direction. All they needed to do was to add more of FFXI and keep the very few good things in FFIV now. This gives me a glimpse of hope to grind on until Febuary at least

Yeah, I first considered this

FINAL FANTASY-esque changes to number pop-up animations

but then I figured nah.

Jumping seems like one of the largest changes in there, it is currently a waste of resources and the game needs better shit than something that "might turn out to be useful in the future". Suffocation is exactly what this type of retardedness will bring.

No, suffocation is already here. Jumping won't kill the game. Failure to address problems, both real and perceived in the playerbase (not going to argue if its real or not here) will clear a goodly bit of the smoke. It doesn't matter what anyone's opinion is on it. Its not going to "kill" the game any more than SE already has. You can't beat a horse much worse than SE already has with this game.

All the content in the world won't help if the game mechanics prevent said content from being fun and strategic. You'd be surprised how much a little feature such as jumping can improve even trivial gameplay. Eliminate the animation locks on instant cast abilities and those 2 things can add up to a world of difference.
