If you offer 2000-3000g to repair your r40+ weapon/armor I want to punch you in the fucking mouth. This is just as bad (or worse) than people who offer the repair material.

Worst thing ever was when I saw somebody shouting for repairs for about 20 minutes at bloodshore. They were offering 100g each for two buffalo leather spetch repairs and one iron nugget repair. I told him that the amount they were offering was way too low and he said "that's what I always offer and somebody always repairs them." Sure enough, some fuck comes along thinking he's doing a good deed and repairs all of the guy's shit.
I lol at people offering 2k for jadeite repairs. Good luck!
Ugh, I know-- pisses me off. Even some members from my bigger shells are starting to push it. All I ask is for a little gratitude-- not this "Yo ARMz fix my shit for 1g, imma afk while I wait". Fuck off. It's the equivalent of a tank spamming HEAL HEAL HEAL HEAL HEAL in the chatlog
Yeah I have various people coming up to me now for weaver/lw repairs... I'll just afetr a craft maybe stand up check them.. and if they arn't offering enough just sit back down and keep crafting infront of their face >.>
imo, I'm providing the service, your 100-500g isn't providing me a thing... and not worth the trouble![]()
Fent is cheap enough, I don't really mind. I offer a base 4k for most repairs. 9k for my Vintage Boots and 9k for Jade Crook repairs.
If the person is offering 1g and I see their junk is in red, I might fix it anyways for the 130-150 skill.
4-6K for me is fine for LW repairs (especially raptor/peiste spetch repairs) since its my mats, linen fent the same, not doing that for 1K gold >.>
The server I'm on is seemingly getting pretty low on population so... if they want a repair they better start offering something!
also as far as I know, a repair is same skill no matter the % dura on it, just depends on its level ( like 15 levels is 140-200sp) about
I don't understand why people offer so little for repairs, especially when the NPC charges like 20k or more to fix that particular item. You should be prepared to offer at least half that.
Personally i don't put anything up for less than 5k, and that's only if it's not a crucial piece or if i don't need it right at the moment. More often than not i list stuff for 10k, went up to 25k once for a carpenter shoe repair.
And wtf else is there to spend gil on in this game? I have 11.5 mil now and just keep raking it in.
I always offer 10k minimum on repairs 25+. More depending on the repair material and item level. Gil is worthless in this game, I have no idea why people offer so little.
I dont know if gulk is talking 30+ 40+ or just any repair but...
i offer 300g still despite hearing everyones whines. (and I repair other peoples items for this much too) but im still wearing gear < 30
why? because cotton hemp, bronze/tin/brass nuggets, bronze square, etc are not exactly hard to come by so stop expecting 5k for something a rank <15 crafter can fix. I purchased all of my gear for < 10k in most circumstances and think its bull you want so much.
When I upgrade my gear to something 35ish and materials stop being the cheap base stuff ill offer more but I dont think I will be offering 10k any time soon.
but once again, lol at the people who want me to pay same price for repair as i did for the item... (im still ~30 or lower on all jobs).
I just offer the gil value of the repair item x 2, and I haven't had any issues getting repairs done. I keep my 2nd monitor on YG and will just look up the item and see if it is listed for sale, and use that as my price point.
Repair should be awfully cheap, easy to use (like a cure spell or something), and give decent skillup. That's what would be the best for the community.
Yeah, maybe there wont be as much money to make out of it, but people being able to help each other efficiently is for the best imo.
i mostly offer 3k-6k on my current gears (30-40), even though i know stuff like fents are cheap as hell but im paying them that amount because i know how annoying it is that you have literally have to stop every bazaar check, this would encourage them to check for my bazaar again in the future for repairs.
there is one mithra on my server that offers 100shards for r30+ gears and people are racing to repair his stuff, i would rather not known to pay cheap for repairs tbh, would get me problem later on, people wont check my repair icon again yada yada.
If this guy was offering at least 2K I would repair it (if I was around lv45 LW) Lv 45+ is still semi hard for me to repair, so I don't touch stuff like that personally.

If I was paying for a piece of bronze, that'd be fair. I'm not though, I'm paying for someone's skill. A skill I don't have, and didn't take the time to get. If I want to repair my gear for the price of a piece of bronze, I'd better be able to do it myself, cause that's the only way it'll happen short of someone being particularly generous (and no, you don't do repairs for skill upping. That's a lousy way to grind compared to just getting stacks of ingrediants and hammering them out).cotton hemp, bronze/tin/brass nuggets, bronze square, etc are not exactly hard to come by so stop expecting 5k for something a rank <15 crafter can fix.
Also, as a point of order, 5000 gil isn't hard at all to come by either. Even at your level, you run into single leves that'll give you way more than that. I'm up towards 10 million and haven't gone out of my way whatsoever to make money. Most of the people I know have much much more than that at this point. If you have 10 million gil, I think you can pay at least 5000 to have someone repair your stuffs.
The way I think about it is... Before we got the repair icon, I had no qualms paying the NPC 20k+ just to take a r30 weapon up to 75%. 5-10k to get to 100% is nothing.
So my cotton coif that i picked up for 800g from one of the hundreds of low lvl crafter spamming skill ups really deserves to be worth 5k repair? because im paying some crafter for his <1hr spent on clothcraft?
I'm glad the people on my server are more reasonable.
at 30 GS and 15/15 Arm/BS I have no problem repairing people's lower lvl stuff for a few hundred gil. I do not help the 1g tards though so each person draws his line somewhere.
Gil is so worthless though I don't see the point in being frugal. I'm also impatient. I don't care enough about this game to leave it on, afk overnight hogging up resources just to get a repair. Rather throw up 5K and get it done in <5 mins and move on.
I agree with this mainly because I'm so sick of people being stingy, entitled cunts about it ("you have a high craft so you are an asshole if you don't repair me immediately for next to nothing"). If anything people have gotten cheaper as they've stockpiled more money (I think the repair icon played a big part too-- now it's too easy to be a repair troll). It's rare I see more than 3000g being offered on a 40+ equip anymore so I've pretty much given up on repairs as a way to make money. Bring on the drastic changes to the rules of Eorzea repairs.
