People have always been cheap in this game. Gear prices are stupidly low already considering how easy gil is to get and how much effort it takes to craft, yet everyone still prefers to get their shit made instead of buying it. I've given up trying to sell rank 45+ weapons and I'm close to NPCing the jade hora I made a month ago. It's even more annoying when they want you to sit and HQ stuff for them.

On my server I'm finding more people are giving 5k for repairs where it used to be 2-3k. But I still think it should depend on the mat and rank of the gear. I wouldn't expect a new player to buy a piece of gear for 5k and then give 5k to get it repaired. But then it's new crafters that should be taking on these low priced repairs.

Where are the new crafters, though? I think you might get a bit more of what you'd like to see when more people are actually... I dunno... playing the game.

I'd say "lets have this talk in a year's time", but by then SE may have completely changed how repairs and crafting work.

My server is dead as a doornail, so I dunno either. The only new crafters are the now r50 DoW exclusives that have shifted from "repair my armor for 1g" to "repair my hammer for 1g."

most all the new crafters are bots hidden somewhere you can't find them so you can't tell their botting >.>

you'd find some like.. in a cave at a lv 50 area in the tunnel or something crafting 24/7

you can soorta tell by the mystery top 20 on a server that are "high ranked" and its all msotly crafts.. and its people you never see anywhere ever

Craft botting, fish botting, mining bot, harvesting bot, exp bots (in and out of caves in 1 location)... even seen a repair bot

Just think of the drama it's gonna cause a few years down the line if the game actually manages to take off, when most of the ultra-rich are just people who craft-botted during the game's post-release slump.

There better be a fucking epic multi-server banning or I'm so gone. I don't care if it leaves 2 people left per server. Fuck that shit. Especially after they called people out on Lodestone.

It's just as bad on Figaro. Botting is rampant among all disciplines and it is becoming a nuisance.

maybe, I'm thinking se really has no way of detecting it unless you effectively go hunt and find these people crafting in middle of nowhere, and say time/when it happened and then them trying to figure if it was botting or they just wanted to be alone.

and yes I'm 100% the bots exist, its easily findable from google.. and the author that makes the stuff posts on my forums (not the bots anyway), I'm thinking though SE is more or less at the moment powerless to act on it or don't want to spend the resources on it and trying to fix the other stuff...

maybe se does have an ace up the sleeve and mass ban when the game gets better to troll the current mass of bots... if they can actually current track the bots (oh and theirs speed hack too for faster movement, much faster then fleet of foot or whatever sprint) O_o

Can't really blame people for using all sorts of bots in this game, given the incredibly stressful, alienating and not fun battle, crafting and gathering systems. At least they can enjoy the results while sparing themselves more than a headache.

Well since the customer service in this game is a huge joke I've no faith in them to cut down on botting or any other illegal activities anytime soon. It's like they went back to the early days of FFXI. I had to deal with customer service recently when my runestone got destroyed and I've been running around in circles and directed to web pages that don't even work. Yet here is FFXI with a solid procedure in place for this type of issue.

I don't know whether providing shit service for this game was another case of doing things differently or if it's like everything else that has gone wrong with the game; an apparent minimal amount of resources used to produce just about everything. It's clear FFXIV was more of a side project rather than what you'd expect from developing a major title. I am confident SE will fix the game over the next year or so, however I doubt the game will ever be a success. We'll be looking at server merges after the PS3 launch fails to have an impact and we all know what a low subscription figure will do to the development of expansions. End result is people getting bored.

The local leve system is a huge joke too. I managed to go from 45-50 without ever seeing the rank 50 leve and that took me a month. I probably saw the rank 45 leve twice in that time and about half a dozen 40s. The 35s barely give any SP at that point and the 30s are shit you hasty hand in hope you get marks (another flaw in the system). But I did do something useful with all my leve time, my CRP and TAN have gone up a fair amount of ranks.

the good crafting bots couldnt be detected anyhow. SE cant ban the players because they look exactly like the non botters. SE is just gonna have to send tells to every crafter. Excuse me Mr Blacksmith Sir, how is your crafting experience today.... which will take too much of their time.

Stupid people on the other hand.... My friend bots 24/7 and makes millions of gil a day... I hope he doesnt get banned but no one can sit down and craft 1k+ mats in a row day in day out.

SE is going to have to change crafting to add in an annoying aspect to combat botters. Make you do something that a bot can't pick up if you do 10 synths in a row or something.

Well not everyone is an expert in programming. It would cull a lot of the amateurs who don't know how to get around certain things.

Se did add a small sort of "anti botting" per say... the flashing orb, has a very high synth fail rate (and unstable element) and since all craft bots do is just mash "standard" nonstop, it could potentially just blowup a synth. Slowing down a bot, not really stopping it. Of course this sort of screws over actual crafters but oh well ;/
