Elementals aggro when you get anywhere near them, I consider them sound aggro. However they do not attack immediately. Their aggro is the same as effts... they turn and face you, flop around.. maybe stare at you for a min... and may or may not attack you but just stare. It may not be so noticeable if you run toward one that is already facing you (they move their arms to the sides a bit and float up/down a bit faster), but if you run at one from behind you will notice they spin to face you.

Interesting. It definitely seems there's more thought been put into aggro in this game than people are led to believe on here. Efts did puzzle me somewhat too while running through those 60+ areas because they wouldn't always chase me. But any mob I'm unsure of I just try to avoid its sight in case it aggros to sight and I can get by without getting hit.

In theory, you should be getting a minor content patch tomorrow (seeing as tomorrow is two weeks from the previous patch). Unless they "didn't start the two weeks between patches" yet, and no announcement or information regarding one by today doesn't bode well. I know it might be difficult for those of you actually playing the game, but just a little more patience and you (should) be getting "something".

If there isn't a patch tomorrow I expect to read some bitching, since that will be the first promise made by Yoshida that wasn't kept (unless I completely missed him saying the two week cycle would start later).

Ive been calling it territorial aggro. They'll give you a pissed off glare, and if you gtfo they'll leave you alone. Stay on their territory and theyll get aggressive.

Also I was thinking, what aspect of this game has had the most work done on it since launch? The fucking Market Wards. Had they just went with a simple Auction House I can't begin to imagine how far along this game might actually be concerning real actual gameplay stuff.
