CasualPlayer, did you lose your way on the way to Alla or something?

This game has a lot of fucking flaws, to a point where it makes a lot of people feel that they are not enjoying the game. You're trying to convince them that it's fine because it's a new product? If something is not enjoyable, it doesn't matter if it's new or not, in case you didn't know. Please get off your fucking high horse.

WoW, WAR and AoC were all fun at launch, all the bug and imbalances aside. You raged, but you couldn't wait to log in again after the servers went down or you crashed.

Not so much with FFXIV, its very gamedesign make it hard to play, even when everything's working perfectly.

Nah, wasnt a status effect. A friend of mine managed to get rid of it for about 30mins by logging off and on again, and I managed to get rid of it for 10min by using Rampart, but it came back again.

So why aren't you playing them? And WoW was terribad at launch. Might just be a difference of opinion on this one. There are lots of people who can't wait to log into 14 when servers go down etc. The opinions of this one forum do not represent the entire only final fantasy 14 community.

@Plue, yes I read alla, as well as zam and probably the rest of the forums you all bash here at BG and honestly most of the posters probably do the same whether they'll admit it or not. No reason to only read one forum for information can use your brain and determine whether that information is factual and relevant or not. I find the reading comprehension is pretty much the same across all bases anyway....

This game is pretty stupid right now. It has a lot of cool concepts in place, but nobody can do a fucking thing because of a couple really big flaws.

CasualPlayer I will concede to your point on personal preference about breakable armor, however that doesn't change the multitude of other issues I haven't bothered mentioning (including lack of player markers on maps, laughable choice of camera control keys, the comical text-message length chat system, etc) - all of which are things they have had experience in doing properly in XI.

Regardless you are the opposition and I am satisfied with you simply admitting this game has issues that damn well need to be fixed - preferably 1 week ago today.

In regards to the whole lack of content complaints (yes this is standard with newly released MMO's), I find the irony in this particular case somewhat funny.

In their attempt to limit the player base from running out of things to do too quickly - before the next release of content - they have placed time limits and diminishing returns on many activities in the game, which in turn has lead the player base to run out of things to do.

I am just completely fustrated with this game atm. Getting jewed by rank 20 leve's with rank 10 leve gold rewards with no marks, no gear rewards 2nd reset in a row. I can't even improve my char with crafting because I don't have level 15-20 of the said craft to make component's to be able to synth my armor. The grind is this game is so unacceptable for a game that is supposed to "be casual friendly."

Surplus doesn't even allow people to "Catch up." I know people who grinded to class rank 23 the first week and grinded through the various ranks of surplus regardless and just had it reset today. It would be impossible for me to catch them unless the 2nd go around surplus happens fairly quickly causing massive nerd raging. People who say this puts 'casuals' on equal playing field don't know what the hell they're talking about, this is now more of "gating raids" like WoW does so people don't blow through it.

So many problems with crafting right now, rank 10 local leve's are misleading as fuck and are a hell of a lot harder than they should be. Needing level 15-20 components for rank 5 synths = horrible design.

Absolutely no way SE is keeping me after the free month if most of these issues aren't cleaned up by then. I rather cover my face with turds in some random porta potty than deal with this.

getting really, REALLY tired of having to reset my retainer every single day because maint./server downtime resets everyone. I actively try to keep my stand but apparently its becoming impossible to do so. If this retainer reset thing isn't fixed with their upcoming market update, think its game over.

How is it any different than re-logging your bazaar mules in when servers go down in XI and how did anyone not expect frequent maintenances during the first fucking week of the game?

If you read my post I'm not complaining about the maintenance, only that your retainers are wiped as a result. Can't really have an effective market system here when all the items are pulled after every maint/server downtime.

No, the point is that it matters now. Allowing retainers to persist through server maintenance would be a design choice that demonstrates foresight and intelligent design. FFXI, over a decade into its lifespan, still has emergency maintenance every once in a while. There is no valid reason to punish players for not being able to log back on right after a maintenance period, especially when there is no alternative to the market ward/bazaar/retainer system.

I wish they'd just do away with the surplus bullshit and replace it with, I don't know, stuff to do... and a reason to grind. The only reason I feel like I should be logging in right now is that I can be ready when SE decides to turn this into a real game. I'll be cancelling my subsciption when my trial is up.

On a lighter note, why can I not buy something from a bazaar when I'm more than five feet from it, and on that note, why do I need to stop to look at it? It's very silly..
