Anyone not on BLM is leeching, and Caravan is level 45 with no entry restriction based on level.
gtfo with your bullshit nigga
Every single time I do caravans there are at least two guys on WAR/PLD/melee doing absolutely nothing because the BLMs/WHMs are killing everything, so to me it doesn't matter whether they're level50, 47, or 10.
I'm sure it's been said but, helping people who didn't immediately get their yukatas? Impossible. At least on Hyperion. If I'm wrong, someone set me up with a date/location to give to some LS members but every location has been soulless ever since the first 3 days passed.
Glad I got those achievements/title on the 2nd day...
Not sure how many people you're going with, but each city's difficulty is weighted on it's general population. In other words, Gridania isn't too bad with just a few people, but Ul'dah is freaking impossible without a massive amount of people. Try Gridania if you haven't.
Yeah it is ridiculous, I managed to buy a lot of them at 2k each to get over with it. I hated the event itself too.
Crap, glad I got that out of the way for sure. It was a spam-fest the first couple of days.
Well decided to come back after I stopped playing back in Feb. My impressions so far?
Looks like a lot more content. Hopped on some job quests and started getting new abilities and gear. Like the rested xp stuff added. More accessible market wards. More teleports around the city are cool. Pretty excited to try out some new content until...
I realized you can't complete nearly anything yourself(blah blah blah MMO you shouldn't be able to I get it, but I thought there'd be some casual friendly stuff I could do at 50) and with the population as low as it is, unless you have a linkshell, you're not doing crap. Most everyone I knew doesn't play anymore. Can't solo the WHM4 quest(managed to solo the BLM4 quest). Wanted to give Hamlet defense a try but again, I need a party of 8 to do that and for whatever reason there's no pugs around. Thought I'd join an Aurum Vale party and get my BLM AF in there but that was until I realized I needed to complete "Into the Dark" to gain access to Aurum Vale which of course I haven't. No one runs that dungeon anymore so not only am I locked out of doing Vale and Cutters, I can't even press on with my BLM or WHM quests. Tried my hand at the caravan escourts but duo'ing that is nearly impossible. And again, the population is so low that no one is doing it.
So. I think it's time to log back out and hold out for 2.0. Maybe.
I think there is going to be a mass exodus to Gungnir when/if that becomes an option
oh god i hope not. weekend lag is already bad enough. shit, weekDAY lag is bad enough in some parts of the world.
all the people from here are coming to NI, is your body ready
Oh This... I don't have a lot of time to play now that I'm like... an adult and I never feel like I effectively use my game time. Noone uses the search feature, to the point where I am in a Party and am able to complete our party by using the feature because the leader doesn't bother to check. So I get to hang out in Uldah waiting for someone to shout/me shout for a party, need to get a full party of 8 and then make sure everyone is the right job. I'm lucky that I have an LS so I can typically ask 2-3 people for help, but that is just half a party. Then! After waiting way too long for any type of group the content is scaled such that it isn't possible to win first try, so you have to assume that your first run with a new group is probably going to fail unless everyone knows somebody.
The worst is I had a crazy work deadline, so now I have to try to catchup for "To Kill a Raven" I've done a few runs, but we always wipe right near the end. The design of that battle is infuriating because the first 90% of the fight is simple, meaning that with each fail you need to repeat 20 minutes of content to get to the point where you failed the last time. So if I only get home from work at 7pm, and start playing at 8 pm I can only feasibly hope for 3-4 runs before its time for bed![]()
Word, this game is pissing me off about having to be a responsible adult with a full-time job. Hamlet seal and Darklight drop rates are not helping.
I agree, I can't find any groups to do stuff I need. I quit right when that darkhold instance came out and apparently, I can't enter the Aurum Vale without doing "Into the Dark" which means I'm sitting around in town waiting for shouts since nobody wants to go in there. This is where I hope a cross server "content finder" comes into use, it is really fucking frustrating. I'm hoping I can catch on with a group needing to do AF for monk or WHM and praying the "Into the dark" quest is "on the way" to the chests.
Into the Dark quest completion room is two rooms past the AF room. If the AF group has the competency to get to the AF, they can easily do Into the Dark. So far I've done Into the Dark both times someone in the AF group I've been in has needed it. That said, I've always been the one telling people what to do because nobody has a clue.
Glad I'm not the only one that feels this way. When I first heard about hamlet I figured it'd be like campaign from XI. Show up where a battle is taking place and you can kinda just fight the mobs. Or at least have it like the original behest where it would scale to the number of people who joined.
The DH needing to be complete to do vale/cutters absolutely blows my mind. I quit right before that came out last summer too and returned right after ifrit/beastment strong holds were released which totally removed any need to do DH with stronghold gear being better.
I sat at the caravan chocobos tonight for an hour and a half while studying hoping someone would come and join me so we could beat it but no one did. Funny how they couldn't scale this for the number of people that join.
I guess it's just the way the current game is. Until 2.0 comes out(at least with the current population) I see little point of playing with the only thing to do being leveling my remaining classes to 50, but again I see people shout for hours in uldah for a party and never get one.
