I really am hoping there will be an emergency maintence before then to fix this fucking bullshit but I doubt it. I really don't like alienating people because I don't want to waste my time with more than a duo right now.
Yeah, I mean, it's not like it's just some small bug. It breaks party play. What amazes me about this is how SE wants you to Party, just like they did in FFXI, yet their fucking party system DOESN'T EVEN WORK. FUCK.

Alright. I've raged enough over this. I'm just going to patiently wait for it to be patched, and if it goes unpatched by that 30 day no-review period SE asked for, then fuck this game. I really, really hope they realize just how important it is they get their first major version update out within the next week or two, or they're going to be in some serious trouble with subscriptions I think. I WANT to enjoy this game, it has the potential, but fucking SE continues to troll us.

As it currently stands, the only "good" of this game is it's looks. Everything else is just down right retarded.

    Ex:

    - No inventory sort
    - Can't see PT on map
    - Can't reply to tells through a simple command
    - Can't use <pos> or anything
    - Targeting system is crap
    - Bazaar system is crap
    - No proper economy will ever be established
    - Repair system is crap
    - Volume in the game is fucked, (no way to turn down weather or footsteps)
    - Lots of bugs (shit like sometimes your tools don't load when crafting)
    - The leveling system is crap, random skill-ups is stupid.
    - Anima recovery time is complete bullshit
    - Guildleve recovery time is bullshit
    - Mobs difficulty doesn't make scene
    - No methods of faster travel
    - Crafting system is to complex (not syth, just items required to make simple shit)
    - Crafts that require lv11 to make, require lvl20+ mats
    - Inventory way WAY WAY >>WAY<< to small
    - Way to many useless/1 purpose items in the game, (ex: Bamboo)
    - Menu Lag is brutal
    - For how much shit things take only be able to trade 4 items at a time is insain
    - No mailbox
    - No Auction House
    - NPC item costs for some items makes no sense
    - NPC Buy vs Sell is insane
    - Everything requires too much confirmation
    - Lack of mobs

Also there is nothing to actually do in the game other then craft or 8 guildleve's every 36 hours.
Most of your complaints can be made about any game out there. Some are outright incorrect.

Let's shorten this list to valid complaints:

    1. No inventory sort.
    True, this sucks
    2. Can't see PT on map.
Yep, definitely needs to be fixed.
    3. Bazaar system is crap
Well, not ENTIRELY crap in it's ideology, but it sucks right now. Needs an overhaul.
    4. Menu lag is brutal
Not brutal, but certainly not optimized. It needs tweaking.
    5. No mailbox
Yep, we definitely need to get a mailbox of some sort. That is just common sense for a MMO.

So, 5 actually valid complaints I think any player could agree with.

The rest of your list is either incorrect, completely wrong (like not being able to reply to tells, or use <pos>), or just your personal opinion that an MMO should be more like an offline game. (IE: "NPC Buy vs. Sell is insane"... really?? or "way to many useless/1 purpose items in the game"... again.. REALLY""??).

The rest leaves me to ask: Are you even playing the game? Because, honestly, if you have issues with the anima regeneration or the guild leves, and if mob difficulty 'doesn't make sense'... then you are doing it wrong.

I should have corrected that to say there is no "fast" way to reply to someone's /tell. There is also no way to report your position to your group other then manually looking and typing it out.

I pretty much stopped reading your post after that because it bored me as all you said is "really". If you think it's ok that items like Flax cost over 18,000 each and sell for 1/1000'th of that then good for you?

Anima: If you find that 1 point every 4 hours is a completely fair system when there is no other ways of fast travel then I really don't know what to say to you. You obviously don't seem to value your time.

Most of what I have said is true with other games as well, but I guess Square-enix is just a company that wishes to be "as good" as another MMO not better, just "as good".

    Idiot

Mob difficulty makes absolutely no sense at the moment as it relates to party play.

Some blue mobs in a party can hit me for pittance. Some can hit me for 300. It's inaccurate and not fun. And what's more, it also seems to be completely random between mobs of the same type.

About the only thing that I can honestly say is consistent in FFXIV is that everything is consistently an obvious timesink.

Whoever thought that people would APPRECIATE a completely random skillup system which governs our entire class advancement needs to lay off the crack, to be honest.

Heres a complaint, in the last hour or so I've done nothing more then logging on to get another "game server crash" message. It's impossible to even play like this, the times that I actually got on the game server I haven't even had the time to unweaken from a death (due to lag). Not to mention it took me 2 tries to even choose to return to my last camp... Servers are really crappy still. So much lag and I haven't been able to play for more then 2-3 hours at a time without either maintenance or game server crashing...

Same here. I was playing fine for a few hours this morning and now all of a sudden I keep getting kicked off Palamecia, pretty annoying.

Really getting tired of this SP gain system for Dow/DoM. I'm killing green - yellow mobs and getting 0-100 sp usually. Once in 10 mobs I'll get 200. Why didn't they just tack on a certain amount of SP; 50 for green, 75 for yellow, 100 for red, and then keep their system so you're at least getting something each fight instead of the many that I get nothing.

I'm noticing more and more the lack of skill gain in parties. I have lost literally thousands of skill points because after battle for whatever reason, the game doesn't register me as gaining it. I'm really getting aggrivated by this now.

I kinda wish SE would take a look at AoC did its mob distribution. There are plenty of mobs to fight in a given area, usually enough to sustain at least 2 people chain pulling. But moreso, there are camps of mobs everywhere. Even when you are traveling between camps, you'll run into a mob every 15-30 seconds, unless you are intentionally traveling a obscure, mob-free route. But best of all... there are no sudden higher lvl respawns. If you kill a lvl 10 mob, it will repop as a lvl 10 mob, of the same type, same name, etc. There are occasionally unique mobs, essentially NMs or HNMs that tend to be a static spawn in certain camps, but they are generally avoidable and do not interfere with killing other mobs or doing unrelated quests.

For example, there's an area with a hilltop containing about 5-7 ice lizard style mobs, all lvl 65ish, and can be killed by 1 person. Towards one side of the hilltop is a noticeably larger (about 40-50%) ice lizard, with an explicit proper noun name, that is lvl 80 and requires a balanced group of 4-6 lvl 80ish people to take down. This mob does not path, will not attack if you pull something too close to it, but will flatten you if you get too close yourself. So people around lvl 63-66 can xp on the normal ice lizards, and you'll sometimes see a few lvl 80s come in to kill the named one.
On the other hand, if this lvl 80 named mob had a random chance to spawn whenever you killed one of the 65s, and would roam around the area, and could have several iterations of itself in the same area since people kept killing the 65s... Eventually people would stop coming there. At that point, you'd need to call your guild to organize a cleanup team to get rid of all the 80s, and then hang around will your lower lvl guildies did their thing, killing whatever 80s happened to spawn.

How is the flax thing a big deal at all? Farm the shit if you need it, because it drops like candy off a lot of mobs. If you're complaining you cant vendor the drops for 9k each...well yeah? What MMO have you played that lets you do that shit? Anima regen is fine, im at the empty stage right now, but I can time myself and move around using teleports from linkshell friends or running. Sure it takes awhile to run to another zone, but its honestly not that long. I'm running from Limsa to Uldah right now (via ferry) it will take me about 25mins or something, that isnt long.

What are you killing and what level are you? Because ive been killing random green/blue monsters and sometimes yellow and get good skillups consistently. Sure some might give me only about 150 SP total for the fight but then the next one gives me about 340 for the whole fight. I don't expect to be getting 150 SP everytime I hit a mob with my lance, that's only when I do leves with the buff.

I'm rank 19 killing anything from lone wolves to bee swarms in cassio. Wolves seem to be actually better even t hough they're blue - green, flies are green - yellow and dn't give anything half the time. Something needs to be done. It's just wack to kill a mob and not get any skill points off it.

Were there even any casuals in FFXI, or are we describing a casual as anyone who didn't bot in a HNM shell?

Hearing about casuals in a "hardcore" game like FFXI makes my head hurt.

Edit: What ever happened to the campfires in FFXI that had a few clumps of humanoids/beastmen? Why is every mob just wandering around the world, including humans? Are there no human bases or anything, filled with humanoids to beat up on? Are there no "bat caves" with literally tons of bats? I don't really get how they've handled mob placement. They just seem to have used a top-down menus and clicked on random spots on the map to pop enemies at.

Casuals were right though, FFXI's party or suck mentality was horrible until much later in the games life. Anyways there are obvious ways to make solo and party play advantageous in a game like XIV... SE just didn't play off the good parts of XI (party system) and instead opted to make a completely different kind of game. So far I think it's failing miserably.

It would have been much, much better if the entire system was flipped. You gain a set amount of SP/mob, however your physical level is randomly leveled up. What's the point in having physical levels that level so quickly anyways? People will hit their physical cap long before they even hit the cap on one job.

I really can't wrap my head around this system. It's just too weird. At this point I don't know how they're going to though. I wont be paying per month to find out though, that's for sure.

I think Weapon Rank surpasses physical at some point, but yeah...

Make it something like 200 skill minimum per mob, with RNG for 200-500 at the end with skill/hour increasing at higher ranks

Yeah, there definitely needs to be some consistency. I have no problem with leveling taking a while, but it should be somewhat predictable. In FFXI you could always judge how much EXP you were going to get based off how a mob conned, in FFXIV it's basically a fucking dice roll.
