But if your an XI player then why would you play XI less to play XIV? At this stage in the game I just don't see this game being the spiritual successor to XI.

Only due to being banned (my own fault for botting to claim). If I wouldn't have been, I'd still be playing XI religiously. Wouldn't even have bought XIV. Spent 8 months waiting and hoping for this game. To go from hardcore to this is very difficult, especially with the expectations that I had.

I'm actually pretty pleased with this new update/patch. While I haven't had the chance to patch and play, I'm interested to see what people are saying about the EXP versus Skill gains. Also, still nothing addressing lag so I'm assuming at this point that my PC needs a kick in the pants which means I won't be able to play or enjoy it much until after Christmas. Having a family is a biotch sometimes when you want to be selfish lol.

So they fixed some issues and have shown they can communicate and put fixes out week by week right now but that's not good enough for you because they didnt fix the issues YOU feel needed to be fixed first with your 20 years experience in MMO development and coding. The lack of O2 up on that pedestal of yours is fucking with your brain.

If these patch notes were only one of those lines you would post the same thing. It's not that some people are hard to please, it's that pleasing some of you takes no problem at all. S-E is doing something, and I'm happy about that, but they are nowhere near efficient and effective as they should be. Stop praising them for something that's not worth it.

I'm not in denial, I just didnt expect the game to be jaw dropping on release like so many others apparently did, I know there are issues with the game and I have agreed with these issues (random skill up gain, menu lag, stopping to view bazaars, 10 thousand menus to craft). But at least things are being fixed slowly. It's amazing how the majority of this forum is so avidly against SE and their business practice and communication skills...yet they post here about Final Fantasy, or actually bought the game. Did people honestly think their gripes with the company would suddenly change? Myself I see communication in the form of actual patch notes and in the Q&A development posts as well. The game should not have shipped as is? I don't agree with that, I agree there are issues present and I HOPE they will be fixed, if not I will take my money elsewhere, but these issues do not hamper the game for me and many others.

Yeah, it actually is communication. They communicated when we could expect the update to Market Wards instead of saying "soon". Will they uphold that date? Who knows, if not then they will get shit for it. They got around to fixing these issues most likely due to them fixing more pressing issues on their side throughout beta is what I would hope/guess along with a good helping of just laziness on their part. If they keep up the pace of fixing 1-2 issues per week for the next month that's a pretty good start for the game.

Jesus Christ I was wondering how the black knights would spin this patch. SE is addressing issues that everyone had problems with, they're doing it in a timely manner, and even providing feedback on future fixes(that whole lack of communication thing u guys bitch about).

And somehow none of it means anything....

For gods sake just cancel the fucking subs already and pick it back up in march or go play cata for a year. You guys would still bitch if the game was perfect.
