No, I agree: you know what's amazing and what isn't.
Agreed, i do.
I take back the "Just want to stop and browse" comment. I've been constantly leveling with my husband's lancer on my THM. We started them at the same time, killed the same things, did leves together, but he managed to get a level and a half past me. So I've been playing catch up with a friend of mine. Last night we were killing one of the giant crabs in Limsa - blue to both of us.
He got 400 skill points off of it for his pug, and I got 94. I wasn't just standing there doing nothing, I was enfeebing, curing (sacrifice) his butt, and doing the main attack for 40~50 or so points each. In the time we leveled for me to get the last 6k to catch up to my husband, he caught up to me, and went a few hundred higher to get his level. I'm starting to wonder if I'm doing doing something WRONG?
It isn't just you. My wife and I are experiencing the same problem. I'm CON, she's GLD, except I'm one level ahead of her. We're rank 13 and 14 at the moment. It is sort of frustrating because we are non-stop performing actions/abilities throughout combat. It is to the point now where I've been sort of idling and only tossing her a cure when she needs it so she can snag more skill than I after the fights.
I guess on the 'plus' side, I can go duo with a friend of ours who's on when my husband's off at work, but... now he's passed me up... It's just odd, the only things really giving me skill points is the main attack - enfeebling with slow, poison, bio, scourge does nothing :/
I wonder if they will ever just get rid of the RNG skill ups and give a static amount of exp like they do with pysical level to everyone when the monster dies it would solve alot of problems.
^ If they want this game to be something to a wide base of users, they'll have to.
The current system is unnecessarily "hardcore", and last I checked, hardcore subs don't buy the entire development staff new cars.
I think the best thing they could do now is make every mob 'drop' a base amount of SP after being killed - and add an SP bonus on all the leves(something like 1-2K for lvl 20's would be fine). The randomness is absolutely crippling when you can go 3-4 mobs(yellow) and get no SP; I don't mind a random 'bonus' system as long as the mobs 'dropped' an amount of SP upon being killed though.
Just watched the trailer for GW2. SE needs to talk to their dev team. Nuff said.
You're clogging the tubes.
That vid with the devs, they basically said "No one likes grinding, therefore we're going to get rid of it". Wow. Way to go. I'm pretty loyal to the FF series but I might drop this game for GW2. XIII, although beautiful, was far too linear and didn't feel like a FF. FFXIV has stupid BS qualities about it that just annoy me. As an example, I'm doing a rank 25 local leve as leatherworker 25. I had 5 white orbs in a row(first was given, then preserve) and I failed every single one with standard synth. Failed the synth, one attempt gone. Tell me how when it says rank 25, and I'm rank 25, that I can fail 5 times in a row. It just doesn't make sense and seems like there's a "You're going to randomly fail" factor in every synth you do. I'm sick of it I can understand a fail here and there, but 5 in a row? I go surfing, I catch 5 waves. Hell I might fall on one wave popping up due to the randomness of the wave, but I'm sure as hell not falling on all 5 attempts. It's just fake.
Edit: Oh hay. Just failed 6 white orbs in a row. How bout them odds.
I really loved the crafting system at retail. Then they messed with it, now I hate itseems like it's harder to get 100% than before.
I wish they would let you skip the crafting animations. Seeing my character do needle point or bash an anvil doesn't get more interesting the more I see it.
never pleased, etc.
