So another normal morning again when I try to get into the game and I can't, because of the damn black screen. How many of you guys actually still have the problem? Cause I really don't see many complaints about that anymore, even though there are shit tons of complains about other little things that have been there since the beginning, so I'm starting to think I'm actually in a small minority of the people who have seriously bad problem with the black screen, in other words 15-45mins of blackscreen relogging EVERY TIME before getting into the game, it's driving me nuts.

I think it's still a huge problem, but it never takes 15 mins to log in... I mean, that's the longest it would ever take me. I dunno why it's so bad, but I usually just close it a couple of times and it's fine.

Well I broke a record with the blackscreens I think, a bit over 60 minutes of closing the client and trying again. Neat.

this happens because you are trying to log in with your char already logged in, this causes the timeout to renew, just wait 5 to 10 minutes with the game closed and try again.

you realize what he's talking about, right? you start the game, the SE production logo plays, and after that the screen just stays black rather than proceeding to the white screen with the FF14 logo.

this has nothing to do with your character being logged on, I frequently get the black screens after not playing for 12+ hours.

I had that back screen happen a couple of times too, but restarting the game always helped :<

Except this isn't what's really happening. Oh sure, explanations (if you can call it that) about namedays and gods is all fine and daddy, but there are more pressing issues at hand. SP in parties is a total mess and probably the biggest concern of everyone I know in the game, especially those playing CNJ, yet it's not being addressed. It feels like they're not talking to us, but at us.

That vid with the devs, they basically said "No one likes grinding, therefore we're going to get rid of it". Wow. Way to go. I'm pretty loyal to the FF series but I might drop this game for GW2. XIII, although beautiful, was far too linear and didn't feel like a FF. FFXIV has stupid BS qualities about it that just annoy me. As an example, I'm doing a rank 25 local leve as leatherworker 25. I had 5 white orbs in a row(first was given, then preserve) and I failed every single one with standard synth. Failed the synth, one attempt gone. Tell me how when it says rank 25, and I'm rank 25, that I can fail 5 times in a row. It just doesn't make sense and seems like there's a "You're going to randomly fail" factor in every synth you do. I'm sick of it I can understand a fail here and there, but 5 in a row? I go surfing, I catch 5 waves. Hell I might fall on one wave popping up due to the randomness of the wave, but I'm sure as hell not falling on all 5 attempts. It's just fake.

Edit: Oh hay. Just failed 6 white orbs in a row. How bout them odds.

The level of the leve does not necessarily equal the level of the synth. Look at the lodestone to get a better idea of the level of the item before u waste a leve trying to make it. If u failed SIX whites I'm gonna go out on a limb and say your level was too low. How did u make it to lvl 25 and not figure that out?

I'm sad because I think most players are like you. And in the future game companies really are going to have to spoon feed us everything in order to make a successful game.

Rank x leves for crafting are actually recipes for levels x+1 to x+5. You'll likely fail if you get an x+4 or x+5 recipe and you're only x; especially if it requires a training you don't have. Still, there's a RNG and you can't expect to have a 100% success rate on stuff higher than your level.

Maybe I just like to be spoon fed or something but the idea of getting a level 25 quest that requires me to craft something higher than it's level is completely retarded. We all know that knowing the level requirement for a craft is just too much information. We should be left in the dark completely. (I'm 100% positive nobody will go to the web for the information anyway).

lol. Where to start. Clearly you don't craft, otherwise you'd realize that you can synth something with ZERO fails, then the very next one get nothing BUT fails. It can happen with anything that's within a 2-3 level rank of your current rank, and it happens pretty commonly. Granted it could be due to training becoming something that you need more at higher levels or a soft cap fatigue, but it happens. I have a linkshell full of every craft level 25+ and it happens to us all. Spoon fed? How did I get rank 25? I'm rank 27 now, probably top 3 leather crafters on the server with near 10 million gil on me. Clearly I don't need to be spoon fed and you have no idea what you're talking about. This thread is to complain about the game, not for me to complain about how much of an idiot you are.

Anyone have issues with the auto trans? I can't get it to work for any of the items I make. I type in "leather" and I get leatherworker, leather craft, but no Leather tool belt, Leather Harness, Leather Hunting belt, Leather Mitts, etc. Tried relogging and pulling things out of my bazaar but nothing works. Broke I'm guessing?

So what rank crafts are you? Do you have a linkshell full of crafters that notice the same shit as you?

Please dude. You're spouting shit and have nothing to back it up with. "I can say it's never happened to me". Big deal? I have 8 other crafters that have had it happen to them? Clearly you're the minority here. Not to mention this IS the random complaint thread, and to be fair I was nerd raging probably over soft cap fatigue. Also note that I have near the best gear for leatherworking at this time. It's no secret the the crafting system does have a lot of RANDOMNESS to it AND a soft cap fatigue. If you can't acknowledge that, I'll just stop talking to you because you lack a brain.

As for top 3 leathercrafters on my server, yea I'm more than likely one of them. Not going into the whole song and dance, but there's a lack of leatherworkers, and I'm easily top 5, more than likely top 3, not to mention I'm in one of probably two crafting shells on the server that are the first or second to make just about everything days before anyone else gets to it.

To at least be constructive in this post, you could have at least said something along the lines of "If you're failing like that on white orbs, you've probably hit soft cap fatigue. You should stop crafting". Toss in idiot or moron as you like, but it would have actually contributed something.

Rank 26 leather worker using Iron awl, canvas coif, cotton doublet vest, canvas gloves, cotton tights, dodoskin thighboots +1; getting 6 consecutive white orbs in a row, using standard synth, and failing each time really shows my lack of skill by hitting standard synth on a white orb which said by SE is the greatest chance for success out of all the orbs. Yep. I suck.

All 3 of my last posts were regarding your personal experiences (or should I say failures?) that came directly from your own words. U didn't mention craft fatigue or any of that other bs your spouting of now(how convenient) in your first post.

Again. I suck for failling by hitting standard on white orbs. I guess you've never heard of crafting fatigue, until I mentioned it. No mention of your crafts. More bullshit. No info. More bullshit.
