Am I the only one that feels that the majority of the news on the Lodestone main page is just a combination of the maintenance information we got inside of POL and the articles that got posted on the PlayOnline website? They needed something to replace POL, this is just their new location for basic information of maintenance and fixes. I see no legitimate developer talk, it's staged questions and answers in an impersonal format.

Yeah, maybe it's slightly more than we got before (likely since the game was just released), but not much. If any, since it's not exactly very much information per article, and the updates are lacking. It went 5 days in the first two weeks of release without an update, and it's been 4 days now since the last lackluster addition.

They do not, however, want to use it as a major community flashpoint, preferring instead to support the fansites and give them the tools for organizing and getting in touch with the community. Rather than trying to moderate an official forum, they prefer to let the community form its own activities, something that they have been very pleased with thus far.

Seriously? Fucking seriously? Is that SE spinning the fact that we would have our own forum communities regardless into the fact that it's not only their idea, but also coming right out and saying that it's up to the fansites to get in touch with the community about wtf is going on with the game? Isn't that SE's fucking job? Instead of moderating their own official forum, something that would give them direct access to us and us direct access to them, they prefer to "let us" do what we would do anyway, completely avoiding any responsibility entailed in having a public line of communication with XIV's player base?

So basically, if I'm reading this correctly, they have absolutely no intention of ever having any real lines of direct communication with the player base, and we're basically stuck with what they dole out on Lodestone and "to the fansites", which won't ever likely be much more than we got during XI between the website and POL.

Whether or not u guys specifically find it relevant doesn't matter(especially u Cutriss since ya know, u don't play the game) because the fucking page wasnt designed with JUST one person in mind. (mostly talking to u Elrina) I guarantee somebody appreciates the nameday info or whatever other random shit they post about.

U guys act like u expect Sundi to personally come out and have dinner with u and discuss FFXIV over some pasta. A forum is the best avenue for discussing an mmo and that's what they gave us. This isn't Habbo fucking Hotel. I want to play this game. My wife and I played in Open Beta. I pre-ordered two CEs, and I did *not* rage-cancel them unlike some. I just haven't activated my trial yet because it'd be fucking stupid to waste it on slogging through this mess of a game. Why waste free gameplay?

I'm already $180 in the hole on this game, *plus* I was going to build a new computer to be used specifically for *this game*. Does that sound like someone who's just getting his jollies trolling retards on BG?

I never believed it was. My complaint, and my frustration (which, while mine, I'm confidant is shared by others), is that the Lodestone is bullshit. Yes, some of the information is relevant, and sometimes informative. Because they have all of the information. Like I said in my last post, it's almost no different than the PlayOnline website was. If you noticed, that's had (some) relevant, informative information pertaining to FFXI over the years as well. The point is that we as players deserve more.

Discuss XIV over pasta with Sundi? No. I just expect that, as a community manager (that is what he supposedly is, isn't it?), he would directly communicate with... you know, the community. And if not him, someone. I never played WoW. In fact, other than FFXI, the only MMO I've played since The Realm (if you can call it that) 14 years ago is Aion. And I remember when that was released here, there was direct communication from community managers in forums, constant twitter updates in response to questions asked by the player base, many times throughout every day leading up to and immediately after the NA/EU release date. I've heard all about how much Blizzard's devs have communicated regarding WoW from friends irl who wanted to bash SE's communication skills over the years while playing XI. I didn't expect that from SE. But I sure as hell expected more than what we're getting.

You like to troll on other people about little mistakes in shit they say, when what they mean would be obvious to anyone with a reading comprehension higher than third grade. You seem to do it seemingly to try to break down and destroy the legitimacy of what they say and fluster them. Pay attention, because this is another quote.

They did not give us a forum. They chose, deliberately, to leave us without one. It isn't about what I think is relevant. It isn't about what you think is relevant. It's about what we, as the players of FFXIV together, think is relevant. We should have a means of informing them, as a player base, what we think is relevant and what we don't.

When they post about innocuous bullshit while leaving enormous issues completely unspoken of, it's irresponsible and unfair to the people who paid for their game and they expect to continue paying to continue playing it. Sure, posting the little things we don't expect or that are nice to know about is important as well. But when you have glaring issues that an enormous percentage of your player base is pissed off about you don't post staged questions and answers about shit that has absolutely no relevance to those issues, while remaining silent about them.
