They hurriedly and irrationally canceled their subs before they needed to for dramatic effect, mostly.

Not really, the game will still be woefully bad. I am just glad they swallowed their pride and did the right thing for people who are staying behind and dealing with the stress of their game. I would rather deal with an emo chick who is on suicide watch than subject myself any longer to 14 in it's current state. Even with all of those changes to fix the issues beginning in nov/dec you still have a very boring game that is headed for a catastrophe depending on how good the open world NM's will be vs the ones appearing in guild leve's.

I still feel like everytime this company takes a step forward they take steps backwards(hello open world NM's). I can't wait to hear about people QQ'ing cause gilsellers are there 24/7, you know, the same gilsellers i saw botting in the caves that were rank 32 conjurer's a week ago.

If it's boring, don't play it. But there's many of us having fun here and knowing SE's track record with NMs some of these are going to be very challenging fights. I just hope the open world ones drop ex gear only so that they are camped for need rather than greed.

You can still sell lotting rights on EX gear.

I haven't played in a party, but I was given to understand that with the way loot pools work now, this is not nearly as simple of an affair as it used to be. As I understand it, there's a possibility it'll drop into your client's loot pool and you'd only get paid if he was honorable about it.

I cancelled cause game was too tedious w/menu lag and everything, but I never expected to lose the remainder of my free 30 day trial. Think that's a pretty legit claim, don't make it more then it is by saying I cancelled for dramatic effect.. I'm still not playing until they fix shit

The system allows for whoever gets the drop to trade it to another without restriction, as long as the item is still in the loot-pool. I don't know if new party members added after the loot pool has been established are subject to be traded to, but if it works that way, then yes, you can sell lotting rights on the gear. If new additions are not added to the loot pool list, then they'd have to be in the party before either the kill shot, or before the fight begins (I don't think you can add party members mid-fight), so they'd have to stick around for the whole thing in that case, which would essentially nullify selling lotting rights unless you were willing to involve them in the entire fight.

People will find a way around all of this, of course, but the system certainly serves to frustrate this kind of thing. What humors me is whether or not this was done intentionally, or if its just another side effect of a clunky system.

Yeah, that's basically what I thought. It certainly throws a wrench into standard DKP plans, since anyone who gets the gear auto-assigned to them can say "Screw you guys, I'm goin' home." (At the expense, of course, of their membership in that shell and possibly future shells). Also, let's say there's an event something along the lines of Dynamis introduced where the loot pool has faster turnover than a call center. Better hope all your members are honest.

I can't believe they are giving a free month, with the apology letter for how much they suck at making a game.

It makes me lol so hard that SE a company that to me has always giving the impression of not giving a shit about the community to do something like this?

I would say it was nice of them but we all not at least half of the people on this thread including me where going to cancel at the 30day mark. oh well guess i'll wait it out and see what the first patch is like now.

Not to sound like I'm being ungrateful for the announcement, extra 30 days, and all that jazz, but ~ I'm reasonably sure the CE people will have to pay for at least one month even after the additional 30 days free if they want to see how good the adjustments are firsthand, since they announced that patch for "the end of November".

There's nothing to stop you cancelling your account on November 21st and resubscribing after the patch if you're concerned it may not be enough.

Oh, I'm not especially worried about it, I already planned on cutting it loose and reactivating it on Dec 1 anyway. With the additional free time, I'll probably just let it ride. I was just noting that the patch wouldn't actually be available until after the additional free time ran out, making it so that he couldn't use that as a basis for judging whether or not to cancel before it did.

I don't expect a lot from the November patch, it looks like the December one will be much bigger.

    o_O

December will have new Guildleves, NMs, and new items (drops from NMs and from new recipes, maybe some from the new guildleves). That doesn't sound like much.

I'm very sure that the end-of-November patch will make a much bigger difference in the game itself and how it feels playing it. NMs will be the big change in December, and the new items will be nice, but that's it. November is going to be a huge change, in a multitude of ways, I'm curious as to why you would think that.

Oh right, maybe I just forgot which changes were coming in which patch. >.<
I'll go read the notes again.
But they did say December was the main (every three months) version update. Sounds like it's more content than fixes from what you say.

Edit: I like how it says "The following is a partial list", looks like they have some surprises in store too, or working on changes they aren't sure will make it in time.

Yeah, it seems a shitload of fixes and adjustments end of next month, and mainly just content in December.

There are still more changes and additions slated for year's end and early next year as well. We will make sure to release information regarding them as soon as we are able in the ongoing Ask the Devs FAQ.
I'm guessing that means what you were thinking, hopefully some of the other stuff they didn't specifically mention will make it in, as well as possibly some content surprises. Seems like they may have a list of stuff they're keeping close to the chest out of that stuff they aren't sure will be done in time, and hope to add at least some of it end of this year, and then try to hit some more of it before the next "scheduled" major version update in March.

I don't know, I'm sure there's plenty they haven't told us yet, and that's the first "official" major version update, but unless they've got a lot of stuff planned for December that they haven't mentioned yet, I can't imagine how it will beat out that amazing list of additions/adjustments at the end of November.
